Officially launched on 17 September 2012, this bus operator was formerly known as PO Bintang Sempati and has been serving its customers since the 1990s. Simpati Star has taken over the management of Bintang Simpati, which closed its operations due to lack of competition in the ground transportation industry.
Currently, PT Bintang Simpati Starr operates under the management of Sepkat Majo Group. Focusing on providing intra-city and inter-city (AKAP) services in Aceh and North Sumatra, this bus operator served return routes from Medan to Banda Aceh, Mayolabuh, Takingon, Sigli and Beryon. Meanwhile, from Banda Aceh, Simpati Star offers services to Sigli, Beurvein, Beryon, Luximawi, Luxcon, Langsa and Benji.
