Medical Assistant Day Gift Ideas
Medical Assistant Day Gift Ideas - We arrived on a cruise ship for a day at the end of November. We recommend exploring the island by tuk-tuk? Maybe a half day snorkeling trip? Any recommendations on good places for lunch on the island? Can we pay in US dollars? Is there a currency exchange on or near the cruise ship?

October 18th is Medical Assistant Day, a great opportunity to raise awareness about this important and fast-growing industry.
Medical assistants provide clinical and administrative support to physicians and other medical professionals by running to the front desk, drawing blood, administering medications, recording important symptoms of illness, and more. According to the American Medical Assistants Association (AAMA), Medical Assistants Day recognizes the contributions and efforts of our nation's more than 190,000 medical assistants.
History Of National Medical Assistants Day
It's hard to believe that there was a time when all medical assistant jobs, both administrative and clinical, were not considered a certified occupation. But in 2016, AAMA celebrated its 60th anniversary of achievements in healthcare. Using our "recovery machine," we know that in 1955, paramedics in Kansas came together to form a national organization to gain official recognition as a fully accredited medical profession.

The group decided on the name "A United States of Medical Assistants," and 78 representatives from 15 states raised $5 to kickstart its members' efforts to support education. But the new team's greatest inspiration came from the work of Maxine Williams. Williams co-founded AAMA and became its first president in 1956.
Today, he is respected as a driving force for the organization. Williams believes that jobs for certified medical assistants will be a huge boost to the healthcare industry as a whole. To help with this work, Williams donated $200 of his own money in 1959 to help underprivileged students who wanted to enter the field.
Proceeds go to the Maxine Williams Scholarship Fund, an annual grant that continues to support students in need today. Medical Assistant Day is actually part of the entire week, not only dedicated to making the public aware of the important work medical assistants do every day.
Thank A Medical Assistant
But the day is also used to attract interested individuals who want to learn more about one of the fastest growing medical specialties in the United States. There are classroom discussions about taking exams, certifications, internships, and more. For more information, visit the AAMA website.
The American Medical Assistants Association is the only organization dedicated exclusively to medical assistants. AAMA is recognized by the U.S. Office of Education as an accrediting agency for health assistance programs in public and private institutions. Medical Assistant Week is celebrated as a weekly event to raise public awareness of all the work that certified medical assistants do—October 23 is designated each year as Medical Assisting Day.

More than 470 accredited medical assistant programs are offered at more than 450 educational institutions nationwide. Medical Assistant Day is an annual event on October 23rd. This certificate is the one that applies to all types of medical assistance. Exams are hard, but if you study hard, you can pass. It is possible to have a medical assistant with a GED or a high school diploma, but most employers require their assistants to be fully certified by an accredited institution.
Spread The Word
A simple "thank you" can go a long way in showing your appreciation for the medical assistant you meet. But if you'd like to go a little further, leave a card or a small gift thanking your doctor for the extra work that made your visit even better.
Share your appreciation on social media with #MedicalAssistantsRecognitionDay. Get more loving medical help! Make sure you tell your doctor about the medical assistants who will help you. Many doctors will write letters of recommendation and offer bonuses to their medical assistants. If you're good with needles and blood, get your phlebotomy certificate and assist the phlebotomy team with an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist to draw blood and get guaranteed allergy shots.
If you are good with your child, join the pediatrician's office and provide comfort and care for your little one during exams and routine checkups. If manual care isn't for you and paperwork is more for you, make it easy by providing the essential front-office support every practice requires.
