A very unfair move, that's for sure. Punishes the most passionate fans of LEGO. Note that I was able to crack the GWPs with Pick a Brick as recently as before Christmas, so hopefully this is one of those rules like house limits that don't apply.
I don't think there's a good price here, and this 76210 Hulkbuster is fun, where LEGO tries ridiculous prices and pushes those limits without compensation. That's what I do here. Thanks again for your continued support! It's pretty cool that 40583 House of the World 1 will cost US$250 / AU$400 / £220 / €250 to redeem in sets, making it the most expensive LEGO gift purchase yet. There are only a few sets that will immediately qualify you for GWP, and with the news that online orders have been excluded from the Pick a Brick Standard, you'll really have to dig deep to afford it.

I think the House of the World set is good, but not good enough for me to consider dropping AU$400, especially being so close to the 40580 Blacktron Cruiser promotion. Also note that there are three more world houses in this series, so you'll need to spend AU$1600 or US$1000 on LEGO sets just to collect the entire series.
40575 Year of the Rabbit is also available when you spend US$85 / AU$140 / £80 / €85 or more on LEGO.com, with all order GWPs included. The online LEGO.com price for Australia seems high, especially when LEGO Certified Stores, and even Myer are offering it for AU$88 or more, so if you want it, just Aussie LEGO stores

Required fields are marked * First, I love Legos, with family or by myself, and I love getting all the great details you provide on your blogs. But I have to say that I am incredibly disappointed with Leaf's recent changes, especially all those crazy price hikes!!
I think the cost of production and inflation are a lot of it, but the growth is not proportional. And then, the crazy high limits on GWP are ridiculous!! It would be one thing if the GWP was worth it, extra special, unique or special...but they aren't.
And the fact that this is only one of the first Houses of the World series/collections, I don't see many people being able to afford and collect them all. And no matter how beautiful this first house looks, there is nothing special about it and if you have houses all over the world, they should be connected to their place and culture.
This house could really be anywhere. Sorry, just a little disappointed and really disappointed in the GWP series. Thanks for all of you!! I really enjoy your blogs! Yes, it's weird, and doesn't seem to scream much value, which is why the incredibly high range is so impressive.

Was able to use Pick A Brick purchases to count (Blacktron!!!). The only caveat was that the parts were designated as "best sellers". According to the representative, because the best-selling ships from the same warehouse they count. I live in America, YMMV. It is interesting.
Here in Australia, the standard PAB orders seemed fine, and I was able to hit the GWPs with my last order, which was in October/November last year. Does the PAB Standard (Substitution of Bricks and Pieces) apply to GWPs? I haven't seen it right in the past.
PAB Bestseller is generally valid, although it does limit the pieces you can buy. The house is very expensive. It is a denial. Probably cheaper to get from resellers on ebay/bricklink. My last PAB order, which had mostly standard elements, triggered GWPs, so it must have worked in the past.
Itching to get it back online and give it a try for me! Well, it's a pretty big build, but both the subject and the pieces feel very interesting. With such a large range, it's hard to see how this will be a big enough incentive for more than a small niche of buyers.
