I take my mascara choices very seriously and usually stick to my favorite, Benefit Roller Lash. (It's on sale at Ulta today for $12, so far.) But when I saw that over 200,000 (!!) people on Amazon gave Essence Lash Princess Mascara a five-star rating, I had to check.

Mascara definitely can't cost $5. Spoiler alert: It's totally worth it in all departments. I can now see (with my eyes rimmed with thick lashes) why it's the #1 best-selling mascara on Amazon. To my delight, I saw a gift set that was on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
It includes four mascaras from the brand in the Princess collection for just $15. That's $3.75 each. Wow! First, the price cannot be beat. I admit to loving the expensive Prestige mascaras, but even my favorite mascaras cost twice as much at the drugstore. Second, the product is really good.
I was fully prepared to judge the brush as I usually prefer a rubber brush. (I think it's a free trial that it is and really covers and separates each lash.) But I have to say that this tapered bristle brush really lives up to the product's claims that it easily combs individual lashes.
