Kings Island Gift Shop - A popular attraction at Kings Island's Soak City Water Park has been decommissioned. Kings Island Soak City Water Park's Pipeline Paradise was decommissioned and removed after 24 years. Kings Island President and CEO Mike Koontz sent a letter to park goers saying the attraction has reached the end of its service life as one of the longest floral rides in the world.

It has provided many guests and avid fans with enjoyment and an opportunity to learn to 'surf' and meet new friends with a similar passion," Koontz said in the letter. He added that he has heard pleas to keep the race open and understands there will be disappointment with the final decision.

The process of deciding whether an attraction, ride, show or event should remain operating on Kings Island is always a very difficult decision," said Koontz. “Part of that decision definitely takes into account the guest experience and the satisfaction that our guests have with it. The other part of the decision is more objective and involves evaluating reliability, maintenance costs and future development plans of the park".
Koontz continued, saying he hopes that while the ride is shut down, there will still be other attractions for park visitors. “Just like those who expressed their disappointment when the original Flying Eagles was removed in 2004 and when Vortex was removed in 2018. I hope you all continue to find a way to enjoy Kings Island and Soak City and find another way to create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime,” Koontz said.
