After looking for spares in his backyard, several linemen, including Dion Dawkins, Cody Ford and Quinton Spain, took to social media to thank Allen for his generosity.
During his Christmas Eve press conference, Allen not only recalled his favorite gift growing up (the "Green Machine" trike), but he also shared why it's important to him to give back to others in the area — especially during this special time of year. "I remember as a kid and seeing guys in the situation I'm in now and knowing that it's a simple gesture to say hello or say hello or go see them and tell them I care about them and take people. There's so much about them in our community," he said.
When I was young I knew what it could do for me. "Any chance or opportunity I have to do for kids, especially those who are going through hard times so that kids don't go during the holidays, is just doing it. Their families know for sure [I take] that we care about the community and we care about their kids.
