Jimmy Kelly's Gift Card Sale - I have this $100 gift card I got for Christmas for Jimmy Kelly. We decided to use the card during Restaurant Week as the prices were reasonable for a limited menu and only for one week. The waiter we had was not friendly and took over 15 minutes to give us a menu.

A limited menu was first offered along with the regular menu. We said we wanted to order from that week's special menu. Once we ordered, she informed me that we could not use our gift card this week with that menu! Really? Now this is a scam!!!
We had corn cakes, small and delicious, with a simple, iceberg lettuce, a few pinches of bacon and a watery blue cheese dressing, not so good! We got baked potatoes, a little paper cup of sour cream sprinkled with a small amount of weird dried onions!
Our steaks, filet mignon, were overcooked and completely bland. Finally we got our blackberry cobbler dried on the plate and the pasta tasted like it was cooked in bacon grease! The ice cream was good! But for the grand finale, the couple in the back room decided to have a screaming name fight!!

Eventually the owner came back to see what was going on. A very uncomfortable date night! In the end, we spent 80$ for a steak that wasn't worth 80$. If I can't use my gift card, we need to return it or re-gift it! If we go back, I might make an appetizer!

We were seated immediately, but the table was on the "balcony," a small, narrow room with a tiled floor and about seven tables. Our table had an HVAC vent in the middle of our table directly off the floor! Previous customers have placed a menu on the floor over the vent.

Our feet were on the menu! If the menu changes, the cold air blows at our feet! We had to drag our table a foot or so to get our two chairs out of a door leading into a large noisy room. When our waitress arrived, we immediately noticed that she was very nervous and inexperienced.
We later learned that she was an "intern" and that this was her second day on the job. However, she was completely alone without any help or supervision. She took our orders and the wine service was quick and precise, but the rest of the meal was a disaster.
Nashville Originals
All tables are served roti (corn fritters) but not ours, we had to ask for it. Two starters were served (my pet peeve) with a five minute wait for the other two starters to be served. A member of our group ordered the blackened catfish entree but was served the appetizer version (much smaller) and when we mentioned this to another waiter (who we later found out was supposed to be our waiter's supervisor) another appetizer portion was served.
My niece didn't get a ticket! Our table ordered three sides to share: twice baked potatoes, macaroni and cheese and creamed spinach. Our waitress served us a baked potato twice, "we're out of macaroni and cheese". She never bothered to ask us what we wanted instead of macaroni and cheese.
I could go on and on about our disappointing experience at Jimmy Kelly's, but I'll leave it at “buyer beware”. This is our $300 experience at Jimmy Kelly. We certainly apologize for your unpleasant dining experience with us. I can assure you that we have raised the matter with our kitchen manager and team and hope that you will consider dining with us again in the future.

For two years, they're offering a special *50%* discount on gift cards. So we bought $700 for $350. Last night we went with some friends and unfortunately nothing changed. Food is good but not great. Service is good but not great. The seats were awful -- in January we were put on the patio by the heater.
The fillet had a lot of fat on the bone and very little. Of course we didn't complain, but the waiter could clearly see that we took two bites and left them alone. However, with an average price of $100-$120 per person (including drinks), there are great 4 and 5 star places for less money.
It is with great regret that I put this local staple on my never go back list. We certainly apologize for your unpleasant dining experience with us. I can assure you that we have raised the matter with our kitchen manager and team and hope that you will consider dining with us again in the future.
