Indian Village Gift Shop
Our Oconaluftee Indian Village is an experience unlike any other, offering a fascinating glimpse into the past. If you enter the Oconolfty Indian Village, you will be transported back to the 18th century. Surrounded by lush green vegetation, the sound of cool mountain streams soothes your mind.
Guided tours will take you to craft demonstrations by award-winning artists who will explain unique Cherokee crafting techniques. Meet the historic Cherokee people in the Living History section. You can also catch special shows throughout the season, such as "War Time" and traditional Cherokee dances.
After ordering from the concession stand sit at a picnic table, relax and dine with the residents of Oconaluftee. Don't forget to pick up a souvenir from the gift shop to remember your visit to our village. You can visit our official store and browse everything we have to offer.

Please call 828-497-2111 to order. Come to our Cherokee Indian Village in NC by booking your ticket online! We will follow the mask policy set forth by the tribe. If traveling from Knoxville, Tennessee (about 2 hours): Take 1-40 East in North Carolina to Exit 27 (US 74, Great Smoky Mountains Expressway).
Continue west on US 74 past Waynesville, Sylva and Dillsboro to exit 74, which is the Cherokee exit. It is you. 441. You will turn right at the third red light and left at the next light. Our checkout will be on your right just before the next light.
To get to our attractions, turn left onto Drama Road at the red light between our office and the Museum of the Cherokee Indian. Follow Drama Road all the way. The road ends at our parking lot. If traveling from Atlanta, Georgia (about 3 hours): Take I-85 north to I-985.
This road will turn into US 23 and then US 23/Hwy. 441. After passing through the cities of Clayton, Georgia and Franklin, North Carolina; You will arrive in Dillsboro where you will continue west on Hwy 441 (left lane, uphill) toward the Cherokee and Great Smoky Mountains Expressway.

See More The feast in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, your mother, a biblical and historical protector of Marian doctrine, dates back to 1531, when a 57-year-old widower named John Diego lived in a small village near Mexico City.
He was on his way to attend mass in honor of Our Lady when he heard beautiful music like the singing of birds. A bright cloud appeared, and in it stood an Indian girl dressed as an Aztec princess. The woman spoke to him in his own language and sent him to the Bishop of Mexico, a Franciscan named Juan de Zumarraga.
The bishop would build a chapel on the spot where the woman was seen. Finally, the bishop tells Juan that the woman has given him a sign. Our Lady gave Juan roses to carry to the bishop in his tilma (cape). When Juan Diego opened his tilma in the presence of the bishop, the rose fell to the ground, and the bishop fell to his knees.
