Hot Chocolate Gift Jar Recipe
This handmade hot chocolate mix is my new favorite gift this holiday season! It's super easy to make - you can make these gift glasses in just minutes - and who doesn't love a hot cup of cocoa on a winter's day? You can enjoy giving this hot dog mix as a gift as it has been tested by the most demanding teachers!
Last year, during teacher appreciation week at my daughter's school, we made a hot chocolate bar from this mix that got rave reviews, with lots of people asking for my hot wheeled food with hot water! If this mix of over 60 recipes sounds good, you know everyone on your Christmas gift list will have fun!
Even better: we took this recipe back to the test kitchen and changed it to make it even sweeter and tastier! All the ingredients for this hot chocolate mix are easily available at the grocery store. You'll need: Make sure you grab small pieces of chocolate - the regular ones don't melt quickly enough to be incorporated into the hot chocolate mixture.
What Makes This The Best Hot Chocolate Mix Recipe Out There?
If you can combine ingredients in a bowl, you can make hot chocolate mix! Here's how: You can try it with your mixture of chocolate chips in your company. We have used dried coconut milk in our golden milk mix with great results! You can put the hot chocolate mixture in a covered container. Some people like to use plastic bags, but we like the convenience of packing the mixture into a Ball® Regular Mouth pint jar.
These pint jars are 16 ounces and you will get three jars from the table below. Each box makes four cups of hot chocolate. To make it easy for you, we've created free printable signs that you can download and secure to your glasses with a simple red ribbon!
Easy peasy! To make the hot chocolate sauce: In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup of the mixture with 3/4 cup of hot water or milk and stir until foamy and well combined. We recommend that you prepare your hot blood in a bowl rather than a Ball® container.
What Goes Into Hot Cocoa Mix?
Pouring hot liquids into cold glasses can be confusing. Use your favorite mug instead! Milk (especially whole milk) will always give you the best results. But because we use dry milk powder in our mix, our hot chocolate is a little richer, even if you make it with just water.
We recommend using a ratio of 1/2 cup mix to 3/4 cup water or milk, but feel free to experiment with the ratio to give the right amount of flavor for your taste! Because all the ingredients are sealed, your hot cocoa mix will stay in a tightly sealed container.
