Jamerson: We want to make sure people know who we are and what Hilton Honors stands for. We're a loyalty program for Hilton's 19-brand portfolio of 7,100 properties in 123 countries and territories, and it's been huge in terms of growth in my 11 years with the company.
Hilton Honors puts members at the heart of everything we do, and we continue to listen, evolve and innovate to ensure that we give choice and control to each individual stay, because we know that is so important. One of the latest technology improvements we've implemented - which has been unanimously praised - is the upgrade program available for free spaces.
Elite, Gold and Diamond members note that upgrades, in general, are one of the most valuable benefits of our program, especially for our business travelers who expect comfort and attention when really on the road and far from their home. and families. So we went to market to determine how we can lean and differentiate to appear in a valuable and meaningful way to the customer.
When we did this market analysis, it showed that no one in the industry is doing upgrades well. To dramatically change that experience for our members, we've created a truly automated process that integrates passenger data with hotel inventory to grant availability upgrades 72 hours prior to arrival.
Industry-wide today, most upgrade programs require applications to be submitted for upgrades. You don't confirm it until you get to the property or you ask reception if there is one. Our program allows one in four members to be pre-approved, which has been a big win for us.
