More Pulau Weh is a mountainous volcanic island that sits quietly on the tip of North Sumatra. Just a short ferry ride from Banda Aceh. The island is a true paradise both above and below sea level. Pulau Weh's most popular village has a relaxed atmosphere.
It's a perfect paradise to relax and unwind from it all. Pulau Weh is a volcano, the hills are green, the view is breathtaking, the beach is sugar white and the sea is clear. Bring flip flops, sunscreen, a good book, and be prepared to sleep on the beach (unless you spend all your time in the water).

Please note that Pulau Weh is not a party island. There are no nightclubs and alcohol is hard to come by as it is strictly prohibited in Sumatra's Aceh region. You have to drive 40 kilometers from Banda Aceh to reach Ulue Lue port. From here you can take a ferry to Pulau Weh.

The fast ferry departs twice a day at 09:30 am and 4:00 pm. It takes about 1 hour and the economy ticket costs 80,000 rupees. Standard tickets are slightly more expensive. You can also take a slow boat. It operates at 8:00 am and 2:00 pm and lasts 2.5 hours.

Flying To Sabang
Most travelers come to Pulau Veh for the underwater life (it's amazing)! In fact, Pulau Veh was the first place I dived in Indonesia. I was amazed at the variety of animals. You can see whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, barracuda, rays, dolphins and more.
The sea in Iboi is the seaside park of Nosy Rubia. You start at the south end and the current will gently take you to the north end. You can go snorkeling directly from the beach and you can rent a snorkeling boat that will take you to the best spots.
If you are a diving addict, you will not be disappointed. Diving is easy compared to most places in Indonesia. There are 20 dive sites to choose from and are suitable for different levels. Some places have power diving and deep diving, which are only suitable for experienced divers.
If you have driven a motorcycle before, don't forget to rent one here to have a look. The island has three well-maintained roads, making it easy to find your way around. It takes about 2 hours to travel from one side to the other. Along the way you will be greeted by winding empty roads, stunning views, and unspoiled raw scenery.
