Oh, the hunt for coins makes you do the stupidest things, but mining is profitable. The hunt for ancient Nephalem artifacts forces us into a decaying mass of caustic leaves and decaying flora. We split rock by rock until my tool hit stones and the foulest stream of gas spewed forth. The other miners helped me dig the largest object I have ever seen—an ominous-looking altar. As we began to examine this strange find, a faint whisper penetrated my mind

It was not one voice, but a collective. Who they are, I am not sure, but I can be sure that we must share our discovery with the others. We began the long journey back to New Tristram with our precious find. A few days passed, many townspeople came to see the altar and left. Then Nephalem marched into town and asked to see the altar...." -New Tristram Miner Season 28 introduces Rites of Sanctuary, a new seasonal theme

For Season 28, this means that the rewards originally available from Season 16 will return. 11:30 a.m. PST. Note: All changes apply to all versions of Diablo III, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, unless otherwise noted. Season 28, Rites of Sanctuary, we travel deep into the mysterious ruins of the Festering Woods.

During a mining trip, the citizens of New Tristram encountered an ominous altar carved from archaic material and bearing mysterious markings. Shaken by the monolith's ancient aroma, they are aided by a brave Nephalem willing to investigate this ominous find once left behind from time to time – a ritual altar.

As the home of the powers that died extinct from the sanctuary, the Altar of Rites bestows these mystical powers upon the precious Nephalem. . .after the sacrifice. You can start interacting with the Altar of Rites at level one. Upon arriving at the Altar of Rites, players will see 26 icons called Seals and three legendary potions of power.

Please take a moment to explore the items below. As you can see, after unlocking the first seal, the order in which you unlock additional seals and gain their powers is entirely up to you and which powers best suit your character's build. When a seal or legendary potion power is unlocked, you immediately gain the power of that seal or potion and can unlock attached seals or potions when you have the necessary materials.

Seasonal Conquest

Players can unlock all seals and potions and the powers apply to all your characters – these powers last all season 28. Unlocking seals and potions is not easy, especially after many sacrifices – you will find yourself wandering through the Sanctuary and kill dozens of demons who want to prevent you from acquiring the full power of the Rittie Altar.

Players must gather materials listed in the Altar of Rites menu and sacrifice them to gain the power of a seal or elixir. In addition to getting a power-up upon unlocking, you'll notice that the generic text shown earlier has been replaced with a little bit of backstory about Sanctuary's tumultuous past.

To unlock a seal, the lock must be unlocked first (this does not apply to seals R, S and T, as they are located in the altar). For example, if you want to unlock seal B or C, seal A must already be unlocked. There is no limit to how many seals or potions can be opened in a given time period, provided you have the necessary materials to sacrifice at the altar.

Regardless of the order in which you unlock Seals and Potions, the price will increase as shown below. Research the cost of each sacrifice and see where in Sanctuary you can find some of these rare materials. Performing this sacrifice applies to all other character classes on your account.
