Good Samaritan Hospital Gift Shop
You can purchase items online for delivery to the patient's room during store hours. However, floral items cannot be delivered to patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) or in isolation (including COVID-19 and critical care units). If an item is ordered outside of normal store hours, it will be shipped the next business day.

In keeping with our mission to promote health and wellness, smoking is not permitted anywhere on campus. This policy applies to patients and visitors, as well as physicians, employees and volunteers.
Cell phones can be used in family waiting areas in the hospital. Good Vibes Guests are invited to visit Good Vibes on the upper level of the main lobby for coffee and pastries, snacks or a full meal. Good Vibes offers delicate salads and sandwiches, soup and pastries.
Visitors can dine in, order out or place an order by calling extension 1588. Good Vibes is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and closed on weekends. Canteen For the convenience of visitors, the hospital canteen is located on the first floor and serves a variety of hot and cold food and beverages.

The cafeteria is open seven days a week. On weekdays, it closes at 3:30. On weekends, the canteen will have extended hours, operating from 6:45. at 2 in the morning without closing. Vending Machines Vending machines for drinks, coffee and snacks are located in the emergency department waiting area and on the ground floor near the north elevator.
Visitors Advocate Visitors Good Samaritan Hospital offers care pagers for family members waiting for a patient in surgery and Dial-a-Dad pagers for grandparents. These pagers allow carriers to leave waiting areas while still in contact. Call the hospital operator by dialing "0" from any home phone for a pager or pick one up in the family practice waiting area.

Gift Shop Daisy's Basket Gift Shop, operated by the Good Samaritan Hospital Nurse, is located in the lobby. Store hours: Monday 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday closed. The Gingham Tree resale shop, also operated by the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary, is located in a separate building on the southeast corner of campus.
The store is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The assistant gives his receipts to the lawyer of the Good Samaritan Hospital. Newspapers can be purchased at the Daisy Basket Gift Shop. Notary public A notary public is available Monday through Friday 24 hours a day.
Visitor Policy
To find a notary public, dial "0" and ask for help. The hospital is located at 3815 Highland Ave in Downers Grove. Visitors can park in any of the designated lots or in Garage D off Wellnes Way near the Emergency Department. Please refer to the campus map.
Disabled parking is located in all visitor parking areas. A free service is provided at the main entrance of the hospital, in the Doctors Office Center and in the Emergency Department during peak hours. If you need emergency vehicle assistance, we will be happy to provide you with a list of service stations in the area.
Call the hospital operator by dialing "0" on any home phone. Interpreter services are available free of charge for patients who do not speak or read English. For those who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired, sign language interpreters, TTYs, and other auxiliary aids and services are available free of charge.

Chaplains are professionally trained and are a vital part of holistic care. Mission and Spiritual Care Chaplains can contact your own clergy, congregation, synagogue, mosque or religious community and make arrangements for your religious/spiritual needs (scriptures, communion, anointing or sacrament of the sick, prayer rugs, Sabbath candles).

Holy Communion is available daily to Catholic patients. We also provide information about advance directives (living will and durable power of attorney for health care) and can discuss ethical decision making and health care issues. Chaplains are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
You can reach a chaplain by calling the Mission and Spiritual Care office at extension 1185, telling your nurse or dialing "0" to the operator and asking for the chaplain on duty. Chapel - Our chapel is open for prayer and reflection for people of all faiths.
The church can be used for worship and memorial events. It is open 24 hours a day and is located in the main lobby on the first floor. Ethics Consulting Services - Health care decisions can be very complex in the context of our high-tech world.
Making decisions about treatment options can sometimes be difficult. If you feel that your health care wishes are not being understood or there is disagreement about the decisions that should be made about your care, you may want to seek an ethics consultation. Any patient, patient representative, family member or member of the healthcare team may request a consultation with the ethics committee.
