Godly Gift Smogon - Godly Gift is another metagame, a format outside of Smogon's official leveling framework, that differs from standard levels by altering your team's base stats in unique ways. Godly Gift Smogon
In Godly Gift, you can add an Uber Pokemon (your god) to an OU legal team. Additionally, your god donates his base stats to the rest of the team based on his positions on the team. If you're teaming up without an Uber, the Pokemon in your HP slot will act as your god, but that's generally not recommended.

Since Ho-Oh is in fourth place, no one gets his basic special attack. It is important to note that only the base value is donated, not the investment in electric vehicles. This means that Tyranitar can reach a speed of 306 with a full speed reverse even if Ho-Oh is not reversed.

This adds an interesting dimension to team building; Your god choice helps boost your building as you try to find teammates who benefit from your good stats, or don't mind getting your bad ones. The god you choose is central to how you build your team, so let's dive into how to choose a god.

There are two things to keep in mind when choosing a god to build your team with. First, think about how you want your team to work. Pheromosa is not a great god to build a more balanced team due to his poor HP, Defense and Special Defense.
However, Pheromosa is a fantastic hyper god due to his amazing attack stats. Second, remember that you are adding Uber to a team of mostly OU Pokémon. On most teams, your Uber will be the best Pokemon on your team, so make sure you have a strong supporting cast and consider how the god himself will work.
The best gods are the ones that not only have great stats to donate, but are also strong on their own. Let's see some examples. Yveltal is one of the most versatile gods in the metagame. He's a fantastic standalone threat; Life Orb Dark Aura Dark Pulse is incredibly powerful, and Oblivion Wing provides excellent supplemental coverage while Yveltal remains sane.
How Does Godly Gift Work?
Taunt removes a lot of defense cores that rely on recovery or status. Heat Wave breaks through annoying defensive Steel-types like Corviknight, while Sucker Punch threatens offensive teams. Yveltal has a fantastic spread of stats that he can donate to his teammates. At 126 HP, 131 Attack, and 131 Special Attack, he has three great stats to donate, and his 99 Speed is deceptively good in a threat-infested 90 and 95 Speed metagame.
With a useful 95 Defense and 98 Special Defense, Yveltal can support a wide range of potential receivers and team styles. Kyogre is a great example of an awesome Pokemon, but a pretty mediocre spender. In a mostly OU metagame, few Pokémon can consistently switch into its three sets, Choice Scarf, Choice Specs, and Calm Mind.

However, Kyogre is ultimately a poor donor; While his 150 Special Attack and 140 Special Defense are great, the rest of his stat spread is downright mediocre. Kyogre is still powerful enough on its own to be an overgod, but it resonates very strongly on the side of the god spectrum that is good on its own.
At the other end of the spectrum, we have Kyurem-W! While it's only okay as a standalone Pokemon due to its mediocre speed and lack of boost moves, it charges its receivers. 120 Attack and 170 Special Attack make it fantastic for offensive teams, and its 95 Speed helps slower wallbreakers jump over walls and 90 Speed Ubers.
What Makes A Good God?
You will rarely win a game with a Kyurem-W sweep, but you will very often win games with your receivers. Giratina is here to remind you that Stall is still very viable. With 150 HP, 120 Defense, and 120 Special Defense, teams led by Giratina can have four excellent walls to build a robust defensive core, including Giratina herself.
Most of OU's best walls can still make good use of Giratina's stats to become even bulkier. Clefable's Defense 73 is suddenly 120, Skarmory's 65 HP can now be 150, and Tangrowth can hit a full 70 in Special Defense. Breaking these nuclei is not an easy task.
Now that we have a good starting point for understanding what makes a good god, let's take a look at recipients: there are a few things to keep in mind when choosing recipients. Since stats are easily manipulated, abilities are a great place to look.

Attackers with damage boosting abilities but mediocre stats can now hit harder than their teammates, and relatively weak Mindless Walls are suddenly not as weak. Also, offensive Pokemon that lack Speed, Attack, or Special Attack, and defensive Pokemon that only need good HP, Defense, or Special Defense can make good use of their Quirks.
What Makes A Good Receiver?
Here are some good widely used receivers – Landorus-T is a jack of all trades and master of most of them. Intimidate gives him a large default volume, which can be increased at god's choice. It has the movepool to be offensive or defensive, including great utility options like Defog, Stealth Rock, and Knock Off.
Additionally, offensive sets already have a great STAB attack stat and setup moves to work with, meaning a gift of speed makes for a fearsome attacker. Landorus-T can do a great job of taking HP, Defense, or Speed depending on what it needs, making it a great partner for Mewtwo, Necrozma-DM, and others.
Tapu Koko checks two of our boxes for a good offensive receiver: high speed and an ability to increase damage in Electric Surge. His base 95 special attack really lets him down in standard play, but we can fix that here. Tapu Koko can deal fantastic damage, turn against his controls, and stay healthy with Roost while maintaining the coveted tier 130 Speed. Koko fits well into the special attack slot of Kyurem-W, Rayquaza, or Kyogre.
Dhelmise is one of the many low-level threats that shine in Godly Gift. With two powerful STAB moves in Power Whip and Poltergeist, and a great 131 base attack, it's really only let down by its horrendous speed that the gods can fix. Switcheroo also allows you to thwart even solid responses with a dial lock.
