Over the years, Archimage has been the anchor store here, and of course a lot has changed around us in 3+ decades. But we never forget what "Avenue" did for us. We are best described as a large contract, alternative store - one that manages to fit a wide variety of unusual products into less than 3000 square feet of floor space.
We first opened our doors in 1983, and after 38 years in business - relying on word of mouth for our advertising - we're not afraid to say we're very good at what we do. . In case you're wondering, Archimage is actually an English word that dates back hundreds of years.
It means GREAT MAGICIAN: ARCHI (good) + MAGE (from Latin magus), history 1545-1555. It may seem strange that we leave an advertisement in the market, but let's think of it as proof of our unique approach. (Can you pronounce AHR-ki-mahj?) This is the version of our website addressed to English speakers in the United States.
