Our Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire stats page only shows the new Pokémon introduced in Generation 3. Mystery Gift is a system in the vanilla Pokémon games that allows you to distribute Pokémon Gift. In Inclement Emerald, it is enabled by default and is treated as a reward system for meeting various requirements.
You get the gift by talking to the old man in a Pokemon Center after completing the requirements. You can only receive one at a time and you have no required time period to claim them. Mystery Gift (Japanese: アックックないくりもの Mystery Gift) is a system available in the core series games since the second generation that allows players to receive exclusive items and Pokémon.
In Generation II, the Mystery Gift system is used in conjunction with the infrared port on top of the Game Boy Color to communicate with other Mystery Gift compatible games to provide other players with room decorations or items. Can also be used with Carrie's Pokemon Stadium 2 and Pokemon Pikachu 2 GS.
Mystery Gift can be used up to five times per day and only receives one gift from each player. On the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console versions, Mystery Gift uses the infrared port on the Nintendo 3DS. Virtual Console versions can only use Mystery Gift with other Virtual Console versions;
Mystery Event
cannot be linked to the Game Boy Color versions, Pokémon Stadium 2, or Pokémon Pikachu 2. To activate the Mystery Gift system in the second-generation games, the player must talk to the girl in green on the fifth floor from Goldenrod Department Store and the game.
In the original releases, Mystery Gift can only be unlocked while playing on a Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance system; in the Virtual Console versions, Mystery Gift can be unlocked normally, as the game is mimicked as if it were played on a Game Boy Color.

Once unlocked, the option to use Mystery Gift is available in the main menu. While Mystery Gift can be activated on a Game Boy Advance system, it cannot be used on one due to the lack of an infrared port. When Mystery Gift is used to connect to another game in the second generation main series, each of the connected games receives a random item and the opponent in the Trainer's House is replaced by that other player.
When used to connect to Pokémon Stadium 2, the portable game receives an item; some items can only be received when communicating with Stage 2. When connecting to Pokémon Pikachu 2 GS, the Pokémon Pikachu 2 player decides how many watts to transfer from the device, and the item received depends on the amount of watts transferred.
Mystery Event
Decorations obtained through Mystery Gift are automatically sent to the player's PC. Items obtained through Mystery Gift can be picked up at any Pokémon Center, from an NPC behind the leftmost counter on the second floor. In Pokémon Stadium 2, items waiting to be picked up can be transferred to the Trainer's Pack, Trainer's Item Box, or Pokémon Lab's N64 Metal Box.
The following is a list of items available in Pokemon Pikachu 2 GS and their cost in watts. In Generation III, Mystery Gift is only available in Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald with a Game Boy Advance wireless adapter or (for Japanese games only) an e-Reader.
A similar system is available in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire called the Mystery Event. In the Japanese version of Pokemon Emerald, both Mystery Gift and Mystery Event are available. The main use of the Mystery Gift system in this generation is to receive special items at Nintendo events.

Altering Cave was also intended to use the feature to change the wild Pokémon available there. It depends on the language, which means that the player can only receive mystery gifts intended for games in their own language. To activate the Mystery Gift system, the player must complete the quiz found at a Poké Mart by entering the following phrase through the simple chat system (based on the game's language) and save the game.
