Loved it every other weekend for years in a row. It was a strange experience seeing it for the first time after decades away from my childhood home. Still really inspiring in the early 90s. This land is indeed dangerous…all animals…potentially deadly…Musicians no longer make super weird long indie films with camcorders.

The Perry Farrell & Casey Niccoli wacky scummy lo-fi movie is what happens when you deal with drugs, you have a camera and it's the early '90s. As this movie is just a combination of Jane's Addiction live songs, throwbacks like weird film-noir, shootouts in LA at night and handheld echoes around people very high.

Farrell's main plotline is the death of his wife and his endlessly awkward fallout, all of which has little to beat poetry. A relic of the 90s, but a watch with a strange sense of enjoyment through it all. Drugs, music.... Necrophilia? Gen X'ers ​​don't need Euphoria, they have a gift.

Watch Out

A bit edgy and definitely a decidedly 90s underground film (with some very less old things) but I have a lot of respect for Casey Nicolli's amazing portrayals. The scene where Casey is lying on the well made bed is such a perfect moment, it gives me chills.

Perry Farrell, leader of the legendary, but now defunct, LA band Jane's Addiction, makes his directorial and acting debut in this art. The film also stars Casey Niccoli as his wife. It all started when Perry was recording in the studio. Casey calls him to let him know he bought him a "gift".

Unfortunately, before he got home, she shot him with it and died of a drug overdose. He comes home and has a flashback showing how they got to this point thanks to the unscrupulous doctor. The story jumps from the present to the past as Perry waits for the paramedics to arrive.

At one time he had sex with her corpse, reflecting on their efforts to kick drugs. He later recalled their voodoo wedding in Mexico. When the ambulance finally arrived, the paramedics were greeted by such a strange sight that they called the police and questioned Perry, eventually charging him with murder.
