many Christmas movies (especially The Hallmark!) treat anyone who isn't thrilled with the idea of Christmas as an evil scrooge who needs to be won over by holiday magic, and that's not the case for many people. too religious for me personally, but I also think that truly religious people are some of the people who need to hear this message the most, so I'm glad it exists in the larger ecosystem.

The Gift of Peace - I really liked this one. Both Nikki and Brennan performed at the top of their game, and I thought she made a faith-based story in an authentic, non-preaching way. Much better than Godwinks. Kind of weird to have a Hallmark movie without a kiss, but it made sense for the story.
It's interesting that Hallmark told a much better faith-based story than other supposedly more Christian chains. Nikki DeLoach and Brennan Elliott are hard at work on this Hallmark Christmas script. I appreciate Hallmark's attempt to break free from the usual stereotypes, with this film focusing on those who may feel anxiety during the holidays, as it brings back memories of the lost.
However, it feels more contrived in presentation than respectful of the subject. She is about an artist who is still mourning the death of her husband, two years after her death, and she was unable to complete her work, let alone celebrate Christmas. She meets a support group leader who helps her through her grief and find love again.
The movie may be the slowest Hallmark movie I've ever seen... Deloach is great as always and this is honestly one of Elliott's best performances, but this was too sad, too slow and too wordy for my liking. . However, it will work for many people!
