Gift Of Encouragement

My blog tagline is “Motivation” and YouTube is “Motivation”. I definitely know that I have a talent for encouraging people. It was in me from my youth. So I know I have the gift of encouragement. ❤️ However, I asked God for revelation regarding this gift of exhortation.

So I researched and put together this blog post. Basically, I wanted an explanation from God as to whether I had the talent to influence him. If you're in the same boat, you think... you're in good company! I am not coming to you as an authority, but as a companion trying to figure it out with you.🌸 I believe that at the end of this blog post you have received a lot of instructions for your next steps!

The gift of spiritual exhortation is given to believers to encourage and edify other believers. It is an important gift that should be used with care. Exhortation is a powerful tool that God has given us to help build up the Body of Christ. This is one of the gifts mentioned in Romans 12: Romans 12:8 (KJV) Or he that exhorts, with exhortation: he that giveth, let him do freely;

who rules, diligently; he who shows mercy, cheerfully. When it comes to the spiritual gift of exhortation, many people are not quite sure what it is. In fact, many people confuse this gift with an encouragement gift, but they are actually two different gifts. Encouragement and encouragement are two words that are often confused.

People (and some Bible translations) sometimes use the terms interchangeably, but they actually have different meanings. Note! Exhortations and encouragers are vital in the church, and both gifts are essential to the building up of the body of Christ. Once we go through the features in the next section, you will understand it better.

There are many characteristics of the exhorter spirit, but I want to highlight 9. Exhorters are practical people, but very results oriented. Everything they do must be done on a practical basis. This practicality stems from a desire to teach people how to solve problems and make the necessary changes to be more mature Christians.

Encouragers are always looking for ways to help people grow spiritually. They are not content to merely teach spiritual truths, but want to see people put them into practice. Exhorters have the gift of teaching others how to apply the Scriptures to their lives. They can take complex concepts and make them understandable to others.

1. Practicality

Facilitators are gifted at helping people solve their problems. They have the ability to find practical solutions to difficult situations. Cheerleaders are gifted at encouraging others. They have a way of making people feel good and helping them see the potential for growth in their lives.

Instigators are able to connect with people on a deep level. They are able to see the best in others and build trusting relationships. Facilitators focus on helping people grow spiritually. They are not interested in personal honor or recognition. Exhorters have a way of motivating others to become more like Christ.

They challenge people to reach their full potential in Christ. Exhorters can discern the spiritual gifts of others and help them use those gifts for the glory of God. They also have the ability to discern which teachings are from God and which are from man.

This gift helps them guide people in their spiritual growth. Mentorship is key when it comes to the gift of spiritual exhortation. To shepherd this gift effectively, we must be disciples of those who have gone before us. We can learn so much from those gifted with exhortation and grow in our gifts as we disciple them.

2. Result Orientation

The Bible is full of verses that talk about the importance of mentorship. The Bible is also full of examples of mentoring relationships that have led to the growth of the spiritual gifts God has given us. Let us pray that God will call us godly teachers and be ready to disciple others with the gift of exhortation.

We see the Lord growing His church through this important spiritual gift. One of the most important things you can do as a Christian is nurture your spiritual gifts. It means using them in a way that glorifies God and builds up His church. It also means using them in a way that develops yourself and others.

The most important thing to remember is that you are not perfect and you will make mistakes. When this happens, humble yourself and ask God for forgiveness. Then get up and serve Him. The gift of spiritual exhortation is a powerful tool that God has given us to build up His church.

By nurturing this gift, we can make a difference in the lives of others. Let's commit to using it in a way that honors God and brings glory to His name. The power of instigators lies in having a passionate heart for God, being authentic and transparent, and having a compelling presence.

3. Teaching Ability

As for weaknesses, I'm still looking for them. I suppose it can vary from person to person. If I find anything I'll come back and update the post. Finally, instigators must learn to balance their strengths and weaknesses in order to effectively wield this spiritual gift.

If they can do this, they will be effective leaders and shepherds of spiritual exhortation. These few questions will help you think about this gift. This is by no means an exhaustive questionnaire. Finally, I believe you must be in secret, in prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit if you have this gift.

Ask for confirmation. If you answered yes to most or all of these questions, you probably have the gift of prompting. Thank you for using your gift to build up the body of Christ! If you didn't answer yes to most or all of these questions, don't worry... This is not an exhaustive questionnaire.

Spend time in a quiet place to learn more about your gifts. You can still use known gifts to bless others in Jesus' name (if you receive a revelation of the gift of exhortation). Let's look at five biblical figures who I believe had this gift and learn how they used it to transform their lives.
