A globe and telescope are elegant extras to have in a senior professor's office. It would be good for a professor with a dry sense of humor. Every teacher would laugh knowingly after reading these jokes. The teacher wrote these jokes! Your professor can put it on the coffee table as a book for people to read during office hours.

Plus, they'll probably share it in the faculty room for a laugh with all the other professors. So this year I actually got it as a gift. And they were probably my favorite gift. They come in a great gift box for a really good "unwrapping" experience.

We are constantly moving from one class to another...then we go to meetings...then we go to classes with researchers...then we squeeze in some lesson plans...and well, you get the idea.

We need travel mugs to keep our coffee warm during the trip. What I love about it is that you can personalize it with your professor's name! Well, I got this gift once from another professor. He told me it would be fun to use it on students' papers.
He was right! My students wrote "great job!" on their papers. loved buying stamps with inscriptions. It reminded them of elementary school, and it's a great talk in class every semester. Really - teachers and students love it! Some of the stamps on Amazon have things that talk about not consulting parents, etc.

these are not very suitable for a professor. But this set has a good group of general messages that will work well for professors and adult students. Leather notebooks are an affordable and safe gift for your professor. It's a classy way to say "thank you" to your professor for all his hard work and guidance.
We use notebooks all the time to take notes when talking to students or during faculty meetings. I would recommend going for quality with this gift rather than a generic paper notebook. If you're not going with that leather bound notebook but still think it's a good gift idea, make sure it's a hardcover book.
I'm sure it won't surprise you that many teachers love a glass of wine after work. The reason I chose the wine glass above is because it comes in a nice box, which makes it really 'presentable'. You can just wrap it up or put it in a nice bag when you deliver it to your professor.
