Gift Exchange Poems For Christmas
Gift Exchange Poems For Christmas - Others will have the opportunity to join a White Elephant, Secret Santa, or similar Christmas gift exchange. But others? It's better for them. Gift games come in many forms, but the most common is a colorful Christmas theme or a poem. These types of games are fast paced, low pressure and great for large groups.

And if you're the one running the show, the good news is that it's pretty easy to set up. As with other gift exchanges, each participant brings a wrapped gift of a value determined by the organizer ($10 or $20 usually). The game begins with people sitting in a circle holding their own gifts.
Then someone reads a poem or story that has a lot of "left" and "right" words. Participants follow these verbal cues and pass gifts to the left or right until the conversation ends and each person takes the gift they are holding. The only "trick" here is to make sure the gifts don't end up back in the hands of the people who brought them.
To prevent this, you may want to count the number of left and right turns of your speech to know where the gifts end up, based on the number of people in the circle. If you are not sure how many players you will get, you can always reserve a selection list of the story if the gifts find their way home.
How A Left-Right Christmas Game Works
For example: "Now, there's nothing left to do but open the gift you're holding." The only criteria for a left-right (if you will, right-left) Christmas story is that it contains a lot of stuff. Of course, bonus points for content that entertains people while they submit their gifts.

Here's an example of a left-right story you can use for your group (click here for a printable PDF version): Once upon a time there was a lawyer named Bob RIGHT. His son's name was Bill RIGHT, and father and son then started their own law firm, RIGHT, RIGHT, & Associates.
RIGHT, RIGHT & Associates is known for litigating EXCLUSIVE bankruptcies. They let the Easter Bunny go free when they sued him for rancid eggs he left in children's baskets. They LEFT the Tooth Fairy penniless when they sued her for the small amount she left under the child's pillow.
But the main target of all is THE LEFT - Father Christmas. He himself will be penniless... if it's all right. The father and son team found the PERFECT customer in an 8-year-old girl named (appropriately) Sue. Little Sue was upset because Santa DID put coal in her stocking last Christmas.

RIGHT, RIGHT, & Associates argued that their client was put on the negative list without reason. The girl showed a lot of evidence that everything was done RIGHT in the previous year. All that's left is for Santa to show up. Crossing the entire aisle, he walked up to the witness stand, held out his right hand and swore to tell the truth.
Santa said that while it may seem like little Sue did everything RIGHT, there was one thing she did that left her with no choice but to put the girl on the wrong list. "No stone was left unturned in our investigation!" said Bill Right.

All this drama in the courtroom LEFT Sue is shaking with excitement. "Yes, I agree! On Christmas Eve, I got up in the middle of the night and ate the cookies that were left for Santa! I thought I didn't have much time left to get on the bad list!"
Santa immediately replied, "Oh ho ho! Little Sue, I always keep a bad line in my left pocket so I can change it on the fly!" And then, I had no choice. of the law firm of RIGHT, RIGHT, & Associates but to dismiss their lawsuit against Santa. And that year, Bob RIGHT and Bill RIGHT were not surprised to find that Santa had left coal in their

stocking. But little Sue was surprised to wake up on Christmas morning to find that Santa had forgiven her for her bad judgment and left a beautiful, shiny gift under the Christmas tree. this time! " said Sue. "Now, let's see what he left me with!"
Of course, this is far from the only left-right Christmas story out there - I've linked to other examples from the Resources page. If you have the time, you might try to come up with your own stories. That way, you can create inside jokes about people and topics that the participants are familiar with.
