Although the winner has not yet been officially announced, Giant Eagle announced Friday that it plans to share the money it received from the Ohio Lottery for ticket sales. Ohio Lottery Interim Director Michelle Gillcrist said no one has "officially" come forward to claim the prize, but the agency's office in Canton received a call from someone claiming to be the winner asking for information.
Gillcrist became head of the lottery following the resignation of Pat McDonald on April 15. Powerball ticket sold in Summit County: $256.6 million winning Powerball ticket sold at Get Go in Summit County Brandon Daniels, director of public relations for GetGo, said 28 employees at the store will receive a gift card of their choice to
celebrate the sale of the winning ticket. The exact value of the gift card is still being determined. Daniels said GetGo's parent company, Giant Eagle, also plans to take an undisclosed amount of $100,000 from the lottery for the sale of the winning ticket to make a donation to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.

President and CEO Dan Flowers said the food bank has seen a 19 percent increase so far this year in individuals and families seeking help.
Flowers said the end of pandemic aid will help increase demand for help putting food on the table. "The lines continue to grow at our food banks and pantries," she said. "Every dollar helps us provide food for those in need." This is the second time a Giant Eagle or GetGo has sold a winning Powerball jackpot ticket.
