Each experience card includes a dining experience designed for two people. The Silver Card experience begins with champagne followed by two nine-course tasting menus. The Silver card includes drinks, taxes and service. Additional food and alcohol are extra. The Silver Card does not guarantee a reservation.
The Gold Card experience begins with champagne followed by two tasting menus of fourteen courses and two wines personalized by our sommeliers. The Gold card includes drinks, taxes and service. Additional foods are extra. The Black Card experience begins with champagne followed by an eighteen-course tasting menu and an exceptional wine pairing personalized by our sommeliers.
The Black Card also includes our concierge service, BMW car service to and from your accommodation or hotel, and a chef keller gift on departure. The black card includes drinks, taxes and service. Download it now My review is below, but first I'll tell you what the black card experience is, if you've never heard of it before. It's $2,500.00 for two people for dinner. There is a phone number on the back of the card and someone will personally take care of your reservation for you.
They are very responsive and you can go as far as you want. It comes with a BMW car service that will pick you up from your hotel to the French laundry. They say you get a bottle of champagne when you arrive, but basically they pour you two glasses and if you want more you can ask for more.
It's an 18 course dinner (beyond the 6 course menu) and you get wine pairings. You also get a "gift" from them, which is a French laundry cookbook. The French Laundry had become in my mind a restaurant that had almost become folklore. Thomas Keller was a legendary chef among other great kitchen giants.

For a simple southern home cook like me, he was second to none and so a trip to his restaurant was added to my bucket list. The little royal blue box I received last Valentine's Day was amazing. Inside was a matte black metal card, with just a fabric pin on one side and a phone number on the other.

I was given a black card experience. An 18-course wine-pairing tasting experience for two at The French Laundry. After a year of waiting, we waited in our hotel lobby for the driver to arrive. The BMW car service they sent was very quick and comfortable, and when we arrived we were warmly welcomed by a large number of employees.
The restaurant itself looks like a large cottage with a garden across the street. All rooms are intimate and comfortable, nothing flashy except fresh flowers on the table, white linens on the table and hand polished cutlery. He served us two glasses of champagne and arrived at our table.
We were never given the menus for our 18 course tasting menu so we were unprepared for what came out of the kitchen next. It would have been helpful to read about this before taking our next course. All the plates of food are small, almost delicate portions, but the food is so rich that it is very filling.
I'll post pictures, list some menu items (I won't list them all) and a few words about our impressions because it would be too tiring to read every detail of the experience. is 'would we do it again', my short answer would be no. It's not really a meal, but an experience.
