Of the vehicles included in the recall, Ford estimates that 19 percent of trucks and SUVs are affected by improperly installed components. Ford says the cause of the Bronco and Ranger recall can be traced back to the vehicles' home assembly plant in Michigan. The automaker further stated that the problem was due to an automated tool that was used to tighten the torque nuts for repairs.
