Foldable Gift Boxes
Paper gift boxes are quick and easy to make and can be customized in a variety of ways to fit the occasion or the gift inside. You can adjust the size of the box according to the size of the paper you are using. The finished box is always one-quarter the size of the original square of paper when measured from corner to corner.
These boxes are perfect for small gifts and parties, they can be customized for the holidays or customized by embellishing the paper with rubber stamps and other embellishments to suit the recipient's style. Before working on a box you plan to give as a gift, it can be helpful to make a box using scraps.
You can use various decorating techniques such as rubber stamp placement and techniques on your paper box. Start by making the cover, then repeat the process with a slightly smaller square of paper to make the bottom of the box. Start with a square sheet of paper.
Mark The Center Of The Paper
Using your pencil and ruler, draw two diagonal lines from corner to corner. This will mark the center of the square and create a large X. Don't worry about marking the paper as the markings are inside and not visible. Fold each corner to the center of the square.

If you have one, use a bone folder tool to help it fold fully. This will give you a high quality result. Otherwise, press the folds firmly with your hand. Next, open the paper. Next, fold each corner to the opposite side line you made by folding its diagonal.
Then open the paper again. At this point, you should see a series of squares formed by different folds. Now you will finish this with the final set of folds. Fold each corner so that it meets the fold line closest to it. Then open the paper again.
Make four cuts as shown in the picture below. It doesn't matter what angles you cut, as long as they're diagonal to each other. If you want to embellish the paper with stamps or other works of art, now is the time to do it plain.
Make The First Folds
It is more difficult to decorate the box after folding, but not impossible.) If you are using ink, let it dry before continuing to fold the box. You are now ready to fold your paper gift box. You can use glue to hold the folds in place, but this is not essential.
Take the edges of the corners you just folded and fold along the next fold line to create the sides of the box. Fold the remaining two pieces into the middle of the box. This keeps the box tight. No need to add glue unless you want extra stability.
