Exploding Gift Box Prank
Send your double-shift boss a birthday card with adorable glitter all over your keyboard to show off. Text your ex who cheated on you with his best friend because he fucked your heart out. Shine or poo won't hurt that noisy neighbor who never lets you sleep at night.
Send them a glitter-covered bauble or a shiny spring ball. Maybe you just want to be silly and send the nice old lady across the street a box of boring sand for no reason. We won't judge. Sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date with sales, news and more… © 2023 Ruin Dais.

It can also be used for birthdays and other occasions. As usual, I've embedded a video from my podcast here. I also have an embedded video of my son opening the box on Christmas morning. don't forget to check out my other tutorials and my other podcast episodes.
You will need 2 mousetraps for this, I got a pack of 4 for $1 A box that will fit two mousetraps on the bottom. $1 Some mini bows, Christmas confetti or anything bright and Christmas time that won't draw attention. $2 Some thin stiff thread a small piece of steel used as barbell scissors and/or an exacto knife Glue - I used a hot glue gun not pictured - Some cardboard from your trash can Tape - I used some clear and some
of the masked tape to the wrapping paper The first thing I did was to tape the mousetraps to a piece of steel. It is easier to tie the thread while they are fixed, but not in the box. Pay special attention to how the mousetraps are oriented.
You want the rides to go away. You also want the trap parts of the mousetraps to be opposite, so that the false floor is raised as evenly as possible. I tried to tie the line loose enough that it wouldn't affect the swing of the snare, but tight enough that if there was only one snare, the line would pull the other when the ride went off course.

Glue the steel plate to the bottom of the box. I would recommend doing this if no traps are set (this is so no one writes to me later saying they are hurt). Traps should not be armed until 5 minutes before giving the gift.
Drill a small hole in the box where shown and thread the thread through it and tie it to the thread between the times. You can see that I tied the loop so that it pulls evenly on both sides. I just used a cereal box from the recycling bin.
I measured the inside of the box and drew a slightly smaller square (you want a loose fit), but before I cut it, I drew a skirt that folds up about 1 inch to raise the floor above the traps. I cut it out, joined the edges and added some Christmas wrapping paper to cover it up.
The gift should be light, so I stuck a gift card on it. Finally, I cut an opening in the skirt for the thread to pass through. Now the traps are surprisingly stable when armed and will take some pushing, but I'd recommend arming them for just a few minutes before putting them back in just to be safe.

One trick that works for me is to use a pencil eraser to help hold the snare. That way, you only have to put one hand in the box when you're working on it, and when you release the snare and hope it's set correctly, your hands aren't in the way.
Then carefully lower the false floor and gift over the top of the traps. Fill the remaining box with Christmas confetti and put the lid on, carefully tucking any extra strings over the top of the box. Try to remain calm and nonchalant when giving a gift to that special someone.
Our Facebook page has a video of my son using it The other half of the video is from Instructables user Bent his Grinch Tree was here 13 years ago on Intro. Reply 13 years ago about Intro. damage. I also put it on myself at chest height.
People usually open it in the womb. I'll try to get a video of my 7 year old son opening it on Christmas morning soon. Obviously I wouldn't harm him. Reply 13 years ago about introduction 13 years ago Introduction even better, attach a string to the gift card so when you take it out of the box it activates the mousetraps!

Reply 13 years ago for an introduction. I would worry about the traps hitting the toes even on the fake floor. You don't want to risk hurting someone. 13 years ago about intro This is like my surprise rumble box. It's pretty awesome though.
