Please email for more information. Mechanical pencils are considered a daily necessity for mechanical engineers. They allow you to draw detailed outlines for homework or professional work with an adjustable eraser. In the new digital age, mechanical pencils are still needed, but mechanical engineers often use touch screens as well.
That's why my favorite is the rOtring 800 retractable mechanical pencil (0.5mm). This can be changed from pencil to pencil on the fly, and also ensures that the nib won't poke a hole in your pocket like most other models. This is a true high-end mechanical pencil that will make a special gift.
Staedtler is another brand that engineers love. This model is cheaper and lasts a long time, but it does not turn into a pencil. You can't go wrong. We recently launched a full line of science and engineering themed word magnets, and of course we made a set for engineers!
1. The Pocket Engineer Wallet Ruler And Unit Conversion Reference
Each professional pack contains 144 sheets carefully designed by field doctors for technical precision and quiet no-nonsense. These are fun mechanical engineering gifts for dorm, lab, or office students that let them express their technical side, but aren't work-oriented. You can also link up with the latest "Engineering is for everyone" sticker with your pocket engineer from our website!
This is my favorite clever invention. This is inevitable. Rocketbook finally solves the problem of merging your handwritten notes with your favorite digital service. You simply use their app to take a picture of your note pages, and the QR code and marker symbol on each page launches the app to send the digitized page to 9 preset digital destinations.

This includes OneNote, Evernote, Google Drive, Dropbox and even specific emails. Want a quick way to send notes directly to your colleagues or bosses? This is what you are looking for. The Rocketbook Matrix is my favorite because it's designed for more technical work. Contains 30 sheets of drawing paper and a regular ruler for taking notes, plus a built-in ruler on the inside cover.
Did I mention they are reusable? Use its "Pilot Frixion" pen, and wipe the page with a damp cloth after loading notes for reuse (and a win for the environment!). If it's sold out on their website (very popular) you can also buy it on Amazon.
2. Rotring Or Staedtler Mechanical Pencil
Another tool used by mechanical engineers is the tape measure. Conventional tape measures can be imprecise and inconvenient to use. Fortunately, these problems can be solved with a new technology called laser range. This really is the perfect gift for a civil engineer! We like that it's accurate to 65 feet, fits in your pocket, and offers real-time measurements that can be adjusted as you get closer or farther from your target.
Engineers are caught in a cycle of always reading technical documentation, textbooks and journal articles. It's important to break the cycle every now and then and dive into a book for fun. Here are our favorite science-related books that are enjoyable reads for any scientist or engineer.
This is our favorite book, and any scientist or engineer would love to read it. For such a technical book, it has an awesome plot without being overly dramatic (except for the last point). No other book of fiction has been so popular while keeping mankind alive through precise calculations, calculations and scientific principles.

You'll support Mark Watney and be inspired by the idea that your technical knowledge could one day save your life. This biography of Elon Musk is an instant bestseller for its fascinating portrayal of the engineering hero. Biographies are usually boring, but not this one.
3. Funny Engineering-Themed Word Magnets
Musk's life has been a rollercoaster of visions, setbacks, and out-of-the-box thinking that would push any engineer to go further in their work. Lockheed Martin's classic and critically acclaimed top-secret "Skunk Works" engineering program that helped win the Cold War, written by the division's chiefs over two decades.
It covers the culmination of super-secret engineering projects and technological games between the United States and the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s. It includes anecdotes and testimonies from senior government officials and pilots about the revolutionary programs involving the SR-71 Blackbird, the F-116 stealth fighter and the U-2 spy plane.
I personally enjoyed this book and had a good laugh out of almost every chapter. An enjoyable and inspiring read for any engineer with a true passion for problem solving and cutting edge technology. Readers will also learn valuable lessons from managing technical projects and teams of scientists and engineers to achieve the nearly impossible.
