Ending Of The Gift - Breaking the language barrier through its International Originals division, Netflix has brought another great show in the form of 'The Gift'. The Turkish show is a supernatural drama that follows the story of a woman whose life changes after an archaeological discovery is made. In eight episodes, it goes through several twists and turns, delves into the stories and mythology of the Middle East, and ends the show on a very confusing note.

If you haven't watched it yet, go to Netflix. SPOILERS AHEAD Atie is an artist. She has a normal family and a perfect boyfriend. Everything is good. On the surface, that is. He had nightmares and headaches, but the thing was always there. He had learned to ignore them and move on;
until he came across a news article about an archaeological dig. At the site of Göbekli Tepe, symbols were discovered for the first time. No one had been there, at least not in the last ten thousand years. No one had seen it before except Atie.
He dreamed about it and painted it all his life. So when she finds him appearing elsewhere, she runs to him to find out how he connects with her dreams and her life. While this ending confused us, there was one more thing we kept asking ourselves as we watched The Gift.
Plot Summary
Why is Atiyeh's future father-in-law so interested in him? He actually says at one point that he "can't afford to lose her either," which is a response to what his son said! And then there's the "what the hell!" at that moment he started talking on his TV screen.

What is wrong with this guy? The first season didn't make it too easy for us, but we have a theory. There is a door in Göbekli Tepe that the mysterious man wanted. I assume this door leads to an alternate world where this person lives.
She had no way of accessing it, but they knew that Atie and her grandmother had the ability to find and open it. Also, this person is from this alternate world and wants to cross over to this world. (More on that later.) Somehow they've found a way to connect with people on the other side.
They hired Seder to do their work. Since Seder knows about Atiyeh's power, he makes his son win her heart. The plan was for Ozan to marry her and once she became part of the family, they could use her for their own purposes. Exactly how much is said at the Seder is unclear.
Why Is Seder After Atiye?
Obviously, he's just a pawn in the game. It is also very easily possible that Seder's boss is actually in another reality. But that would just be an extrapolation. After coming to terms with his legacy and embracing his gift, Atiyeh joins Erhan in finding the door that will help him bring Jansu back.
Serder already knew where they were going and actually wanted Atiye for that alone. But he doesn't know where the door is and believes that Erhan's father wrote about the location in the lost diary pages. He sends Hannah to get them, to which Atiye manages to escape.

He follows Sheher into the cave and ends up in the middle of it where Kansu is waiting for him. They hug where Atie says she wants him back. And this is happening. In the final scene, Atie finds her and Kansu outside the cave, but Kansu identifies herself as Elif and tells her that Atie has mistaken her for someone else.
Atie came out confused and saw a symbol painted on the wall in front of her. what happened there Well, the simplest explanation is that Atie went to a parallel world. No, I'm not suggesting it just because I've seen the same thing happen on a dozen other shows.
The Ending
In one of the episodes, Atie's grandmother mentions the point where the worlds merge, where they collide with each other. Even if it's in passing, it's not something we can ignore as we discuss this confusing ending. Also, everyone is talking about "the door". The door has to open somewhere.
Summing it all up, here's what the whole show looks like. Deep inside this cave is a door to an alternate universe. It was sealed thousands of years ago. Hence, beeswax and other precautions. Nobody knew about it, so even if they dug the site for years, they didn't know what they were looking for.
This is where the Seder comes in. Everyone who works Seder wants to pass but doesn't know how to do it. So, they want the Seder to find the door and the person who can open it. Atie inherited the gift, but she didn't understand when she was told she could bring Kansu back.

He thought the door was the link between life and death. He thinks his power is resurrection, and the repeated references to snakes, resurrections, and ouroboros that the series makes, we are fooled by the same. (And to be honest, I'm still skeptical about what the door actually does, so who knows!) Also, the story leans more on the supernatural than sci-fi, so a revival could be a good thing.
The Gift Season 3 Recap
Another possibility we can play with is time. Erhan's father wrote in the letter that time is not as linear as they thought. Atiye's grandmother knows what will happen twenty-two years later and how Atiye and Erhan will meet to solve the puzzle. They also knew about Kansu's death and the man actually changed the date into a password!
So yes, time definitely goes around in circles. In such cases, Atiyeh's power may be to turn back time; therefore, the resurrection of the dead. Let's go a step further. How far can he turn time? The mysterious red haired woman tells Atie that whatever she thinks of opens up the possibility of a completely different reality.
How much of an impact does it have when Atie thinks of going back in time and reviving Kansu? Could it be that he has accidentally changed too much? Could it be that he reversed the fate of Erhan's parents, which is why Kansu is now Elif?
It would be a good theory if we leave out small but very important details. When Atie confirms her sister's return, we see the entire excavation site disappear into thin air. Even though Atie could change time enough, she couldn't change it back ten thousand years.
