Dst Gift Box
Dst Gift Box - Winterfest is a Christmas-themed event in Don't Starve Together that was introduced in A New Reign and first took place during the 2016 winter holiday season. Dst Gift Box
In 2018 and 2020, the Winterfest Lantern Skin was awarded by opening the game during this event. In 2019, the Ice Fishing Rod skin was awarded upon opening the game during this event. Players can revisit this event by setting Events to Winterfest in the World Creation menu.
However, event-only skins will be disabled upon revisiting the event. Winter Food is food that is exclusive to the event. They have a 20% chance to be dropped randomly from dead animals and monsters. Like Halloween candies, they do not fade over time and restore up to 2 health, 2 sanity, and 3 hunger.
As an exception, the Eternal Fruitcake is rejected by any character who tries to eat it, so it's only useful for feeding other creatures (e.g. pigs for dung). All winter dishes can be stacked up to 40. Gingerbread cookies, sugar cookies, candy canes, everlasting fruit cakes, and chocolate wood cakes can also be used to decorate winter festival trees.
Gift Wrap
Gifts work the same as combo drops, which contain up to 4 stacks of items. They can be created by gift wrap players and vary in size and color. Unlike gift wrap, gifts do not return the gift wrap materials when opened. Additionally, upon successfully opening a loot stash, 6 gifts will drop, containing items such as electric milk, gold nuggets, coal, winter fodder, and boss loot, with the exception of the Warden's Horn.

Giftwraps work the same as packet wraps, except their crafting recipe is much cheaper and yields 4 giftwraps per craft. Gift Wraps can be found in the Storage Solutions filter and consist of 1 Papyrus and 1 Petal. You don't need prototypes. Perishable items will not spoil if wrapped in gift paper.
Some items may not be gift wrapped eg Chester's Eyebone, Starry Sky or Deer Antlers. Winter Festival Trees can be grown by planting a Pine Cone, Birch Tree, or Branch Cone in a Festival Tree Pot. Like evergreen trees, birches, and branching trees, they take four instars to grow, but once fully grown, their life cycle stops.
When fully grown, the trees can be adorned with winter ornaments and winter fodder. To do this, players must access the inventory of the tree. Like backpacks, Winterfest Trees have eight item slots that can be fitted with eight different decorations. Each slot corresponds to a specific location in the tree.
Festive Tree Planter
Trees can also serve as a source of light when decorated with Holiday Lights. Winterfest trees can be felled with an axe, dropping the same resources as a tree of the same type and size, as well as decorations attached to it. The Festive Tree Planter will also be destroyed, dropping its crafting materials.
If a player sleeps within two trident spaces of a Winterfest tree, a gift will appear under the tree. To receive the gift, the player must sleep in the dark with no light. The player can also sleep with a low thermal stone inventory light or sleep with between 1 and 5 festive lights in the Winter Festival Tree.

Shortly after the player falls asleep (or when darkness envelops them enough), there will be a gentle chime of a bell, and if they wake up at any time, the player can see the gift next to the tree. This feature has a four-day cooldown on a rare item drop, or the player will receive Coal and a Winterfest drop instead.
The table below lists the items that can be obtained from the gift. Trinkets, festive decorations, and festive lights can also be obtained from these gifts (not listed in the table). Like regular trees, Winterfest trees can provide players with shelter from rain and overheating.
Sentimental Adornment
The Festive Tree Planter is a craftable structure that can be found in the Decorations and Structures filter and requires 2 Dung and 1 Plank to craft. It is always available for manufacture and requires no prototyping. Christmas Tree Planters can be smashed in like other craftable structures while they are empty or the planted Winter Banquet Tree is still a sapling.
Destroying a Christmas tree box returns 1 plank and 1 dung, as well as a pine cone, birch, or branch tree cone if a sapling has grown in the box. Christmas ornaments are decorative items intended to be placed on a winter festival tree. They drop randomly from mobs with a 0.5% chance, excluding Tentacles, Frogs, Reanimated Skeletons, and Killer Bees.
They can also be found in at least one of the gifts that drop in the Loot Stash and when fishing in Oasis Lake in Summer. If you fish for a Crumpled Package that should contain a trinket, there is a 1/6 chance it will be replaced with a simple decoration and a 1/6 chance it will be a fancy decoration.
