Dnd Gift Of The Gem Dragon
Three new feats from the book were revealed yesterday by D&D Beyond, giving us a taste of the drastic powers that will soon be bestowed upon us. Each feat is styled as a 'gift' from a certain type of dragon, mimicking their specific characteristics. The Gem Dragon's Gift is designed to mimic the psionic abilities of the Shimmer Serpents.
The feat adds +1 to a player character's Intelligence, Wit, or Charisma, and lets you release a blast of telekinetic energy in response, dealing 2d8 force damage that pushes enemies 10 feet away. Given its boost to any of the three casting stats, the feat seems suitable for all spellcasting classes, but it might be best for battle wizards who prefer to cast in melee.
The gift of the colored dragon, meanwhile, leans into the mighty resistances of the colored dragon. With this feat, the player character can use their reaction to grant themselves resistance to a single instance of acid, cold, fire, electricity, or poison damage. On top of that, you can spend a bonus action once on a long rest to add an extra 1d4 elemental damage to a regular or melee weapon for one minute.

Finally, Gift of the Metallic Dragon provides support for buffs that usually reflect the good nature of dragons. The feat grants the ability to heal once long enough to rest without using a spell slot, as well as letting you play a pair of spectral dragon wings that, when used as a reaction, increase the target's AC by a number equal to the skill bonus.

Free magic would be a boon to any character - and your party priest can be thankful that they no longer rely solely on healing - and dragon wings are equally universal. The D&D Beyond article suggests that players may have gained these feats as a gift from a powerful patron, as a reward for their adventures, or as a result of their harsh heritage.
Regardless, while the feats are decidedly dragon-themed, they apply to many D&D builds. These feats aren't the only previews we have of Treasure of Dragons of Fizzban. Wargamer got a glimpse of some of the new magical items coming in the new book, including a Dragon Vessel that can be filled with all sorts of magically useful potions, and a Scaled Orb that grants various draconic buffs.
Last week D&D Beyond also released a free Draconic Adventure to get you ready for the new book. A Strange Piece, you will play as a group of young white dragons who must infiltrate a rival dragon's lair to retrieve a set of eggs. Fizban's Treasury of Dragons releases today, October 26th.

Draconic gifts vary widely in power, as the strength of the gift is based on the strength of the dragon that was killed or aided to obtain said gift. So today we're going to take a look at these gifts and see which ones can give characters the most beneficial abilities!
Kicking off our list of all the draconic gifts in Fizzban's Treasury of Dragons, Draconic Rebirth is an unusual draconic gift, and the only one that some might argue isn't even beneficial. After gaining Draconic Rebirth, a character's race changes to Dragonborn of the type associated with the dragon that was the source of the gift.

While the Dragonborn race now allows players to distribute their racial ability score improvements as they see fit, meaning it doesn't change one's ability scores, it's still fundamentally different with many builds. Many character builds are based on using specific abilities of their race or even racial abilities, and this gift can inadvertently throw a wrench into those plans, making for some bad moments.

For DMs considering using this draconian gift, we recommend asking yourself the question, "If a player wanted their character to be Dragonborn, wouldn't their character be Dragonborn in the first place?" Another unusual draconic gift, the dragon's tongue grants a character a drastic advantage that affects their speech.
In addition to giving that character access to the draconic language if they don't already have it, this gift allows a character to increase the volume of their voice, making it audible up to 300 feet for one minute. The most useful element of this gift, however, is the fact that it causes a character to make all of their Persuasion checks with advantage indefinitely!
The last unusual draconic gift, as the name suggests, the Draconic Familiar Gift grants a character with familiar magic. If a character gains this spell this way, they can cast it as a ritual without the need for its components, causing their familiar to always take the form of a pseudodragon.
