The conservatory features plants from the United States and around the world, ranging from desert plants to tropical forests and orchids, and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Every day. Tickets are not required. The Bartholdi Fountain and Gardens are open daily from dawn to dusk. They are located across Independence Avenue from the Conservatory, with access from any of three adjacent streets: Independence Avenue, Washington Avenue or First Street SW. The Gated Open Gardens ("National Gardens") are open from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Here are some "do's and don'ts" as you wander the gardens. There is no food or drink for sale in the garden, although there is a water fountain and a bottling station. Food and drink is permitted in the garden, and guests can use the outdoor tables and chairs.

We ask visitors to pick up and dispose of their own litter as there are limited outdoor bins. The West Gallery houses the Friends of the US Botanic Garden and a gift shop with plants and plant-themed offerings by local small business Rewild. The US Botanic Garden is not available for weddings or other private or private functions.
