Taking more damage from ranged attacks is nice, but being able to do more damage with dual wielding weapons might be an even better advantage. If you end up with dual wielding weapons that are more advanced than your other weapon options, just keep in mind that you don't have a decent shield.

It's a good starter class, but even better if you later decide to use it with your hands. If you want to use magic, but aren't too fond of miracles or magic, then Pyromancer is for you. Pyromancers start with basic flaming weapons and spells, along with a short-range ax and basic shield.
