The Dallas World Aquarium, which opened to the public in 1992, has been a downtown Dallas fixture for nearly 30 years.
Along with offering animal and plant lovers a chance to see wildlife up close, the aquarium offers guided tours and educational sessions for children and adults. On the third level, the vast Accumulum Rainforest is your first stop upon entering. You'll start on the third floor, the arch level, and see free-flying birds, sleepy ground and tamarins and saki monkeys.
Orinoco Rainforest
Once you reach the first level, you can't miss the endangered Antella Manatee Ayuram. Fun fact. Ayurami (and all its species) have spikes. Complete with Sindo, Mundo Maya pays homage to the world's most important ecosystem. See lizards, snakes and leaf bats, seals, giant groupers and other sea creatures at the first stage of the fair.

On the second level there are scarlet macaws, various hummingbirds and pelicans. Rides include the South Africa Exhibit, the Family of Penguins and the seasonal Madagascar Exhibit. Meet frogs, leaf geckos and colorful species of frogs. The Dallas World Aquarium is open daily (except Thanksgiving and Christmas) beginning at 8:30 am.
Admission is $18.95 for children ages three to 12 and $26.95 for adults. Located in downtown Dallas, aquariums are easy to find. There are two parking lots next to the parking lot. There is also a parking lot on the street. Along with three on-site restaurants, the aquarium also has a bookstore and gift shop.

Maya World
There are two-legged and three-legged chairs around. Endangered animals such as the Orinoco crocodile, the giant river otter, the antelope mantis and several species of monkeys are among the many protected species. The aquatics section includes Japanese crabs, jellyfish, leaves, grasses and ribbon algae. Black-footed and blue penguins can be seen swimming while guests enjoy the South African exhibit.
Sharks, rays and fish are just some of the fish that live in the Mundo Maya Center. Safe from neotropical eagles, euphonia, tank and rhinoceros. Reptiles and amphibians important to Mayan culture can be seen throughout the exhibit. Meet animals from around the world and learn how to protect endangered species. Begin your unique third-level experience in the Orinoco Rainforest and listen to the cascading sound of the three-tiered waterfall below. In this outdoor aviary, brightly colored rainforest birds fly freely in the lush forest and live among their native trees.
South Africa Exhibit
Watch tamarins freely climb trees and care for each other at Monkey Island in the middle of the river. Place the blueberries in a pot and bring them three feet into the soil of the planter. Hear the sounds of the rainforest, monkeys and birds talking throughout the fair.
Follow the self-guided trail to the lower (second level) of the rainforest to see giant crocodiles swimming behind glass as they playfully chase children after each other. Safely see awe-inspiring animals such as giant anacondas, electric lizards, toothy piranhas, flying bats and bird-eating spiders. Marvel at the emperor tamarin's Zeus-like whiskers and watch aquatic animals like octopuses and turtles swim by.
Inside the cave, see the large eyes of brightly colored poison dart frogs and tufted monkeys. Watch waterfowl dive in the river that surrounds Monkey Island. A common display of two-legged sloths, golden-headed lion tamarins and tinamo birds is located near Tucan Terrace. The Orinoco crocodile is so big that at first you wonder if it is real.

Descend into the water area (level one) and experience the glass wall to see a shared enclosure of manatees, giant fish and sea turtles. Polka dots glide effortlessly across the water's edge. Venture into the distant oceans and see brightly colored fish, delicate sea urchins, beautiful corals, octopuses, starfish and anemones, giant spider crabs, jellyfish and worm-like garden snakes in separate aquariums representing different geographies.
Palau, South Australia, Lord Howe Island, Solomon Islands, Fiji, New Guinea, British Columbia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Japan are represented in each aquarium. This level of cuteness is awarded to black-footed penguins in South Africa who display outdoors. Visit the 22,000-gallon Continental Shelf exhibit with a tunnel exhibit that provides a panoramic view of coral reef life.
Walk through the glass tunnel and watch sharks and fish swim around you. Enter the Mayan jungle ecosystem and see shrimps, purple snakes, blue whales and monster lizards. Get up close to nervous rattlesnakes, rattlesnakes, red-tailed godwits, alligators, beaded lizards and red-eyed tree frogs. Watch southern eels and eagle rays swim through the water, and sharks and stingrays swim throughout the exhibit.
The upper floor of the Mayan forest reveals a jaguar temple with these amazing mammals. Bright red macaws, soaring eagles, soaring hummingbirds and 5ft. Hear Bright Pink Flames respect each other and communicate through their social interactions. While the animals are close enough to touch, remember that this is wildlife in an environment that promotes education and conservation.
Be careful not to flash, make noise or try to touch the glass to get their attention, do not feed or touch any animals or plants, remember that coins can kill and respect their home. These animals are on a strict diet, so no outside food is allowed, as all parents know that goldfish sweat and stench gets everywhere.
