Crystal Forest Gift Shop Campground
camped here for a night. No food or snacks. They are strictly RV only campgrounds. There was a concrete pad or some kind of covered picnic area in between. We came at night and it's pitch black so it was a bit difficult to find a location.
It was a beautiful day in the morning and the campsite is literally at the entrance to the park. The gift shop was closed when we were there. Good for free camping. Really worth a visit. Many products to choose from. It is also a good stop before entering the National Park.
I have nothing against tourist traps, and in fact, I love going to them to see all the local kitsch. I also like to shop and help support the local economy. I only ask one thing: Don't try to play me like a bitch. If you sell something I like at a fair price, I'll buy it.

If you charge a ridiculous price for your stuff, I won't buy you soda or candy. It really is that simple. This shop (and the one across the street) makes noise before you even walk in the door. They've set up a bunch of parked cars in the parking lot to make you think they're getting a lot of stuff, which they're not.

Upon closer inspection, you will find that all the cars have tires. When we left, we were the only customers in the shop. You don't have to trick or trick tourists. I bet they would get more business if they just got rid of the fake cars and charged them fair prices.
The people who stop there REALLY want to buy something, but you're not trying to take advantage of them. We are experts in petrified trees. However, stones for sale in NP are a quarter to half the price of similar items. The quality could be better, but to us a petrified rock is a petrified rock.
Pay for your parking and go to the NP and buy your rocks there. The video is a good introduction to the park. There are also dinosaur bones of ancient creatures. Large promenade with beautiful crystal trees. And the gift shop. Lots of Parking The gift shop looks busy with customers, or so it seems, until you look closely at all the cars parked out front.

These cars are on display for you to enter the auction. Except for the employees, all the vehicles had flat tires and no license plates. It's free. You have a picnic table and a parking space. Good people. Stayed two nights at the end of November. Free space outside the Petrified Forest. Picnic tables and flat areas. Push the dots and return. Great store with lots to see!! free parking.
Clear area surrounded by large pieces of petrified wood Rangers led me out of the park and directly to this amazing place. The owner greeted me and asked if I had a toilet in my Little Camp. I said yes and he welcomed me to spend the night.
6. Get Even More Souvenirs From Geronimo’s Trading Post
Later I overheard an argument between the landlady and a camper who tried to sneak onto the property to sleep and she kicked him out because there was no toilet or hers. I couldn't believe how quiet it was and how bright the stars were.
As advertised, simple and quiet. We retreated into the sun, made dinner, watched a movie and slept soundly. No ATT or Sprint 4g/LTE data transfer. We read it and wondered. Called and confirmed - self contained = free. FIRST GO FIRST SF ED. No more power but it was good!
Clean, tidy and lovely sink - Wet to anyone who leaves a mess. We got a seat with a table. Nice neighbors too! I went to the gift shop to shop, we had a great night! Thanks to the business owners for keeping it going!

As advertised, free, quiet, 4 day max stay, great people, great shop. There is no electricity in the crystal forest, but the gift shop across the street has 3 places with electricity for $10.61. We stopped here for one night to visit the Petrified Forest National Park.
8. Camp At The Crystal Forest Gift Shop Campground
We were really happy with the comfort of the place and time can't beat a free place for the night. It was quiet and clean. Nice place! Museum and parking. I got here late but used the parking lot to work in the park early in the morning.
We stayed one night in the parking lot on the left (the sign says Free Camping). No facilities but flat parts. Look for a spot early as it fills up towards sunset. rvshare RVshare © 2023 Aspira. All rights reserved. Trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
