Couple Gift Exchange Game
Couple Gift Exchange Game - This fall my boyfriend and I were two years old! In the past, for special occasions, we would usually go out to a movie and dinner or just do something fun in general. However, in the year of COVID, we don't feel safe doing something like this.

Instead, we wanted to try something new that would take us significantly away from society. Luckily, I found a TikTok trend a few months ago that gave me the perfect idea! The Target TikTok trend has exploded for couples and friends. It seemed like a fun activity, but also a good way to get each other gifts that we might not have thought of.
So last weekend we went to Target and did a challenge. Basically, there were seven different categories of items, and we could get one or two items to satisfy each category. We each started in different corners of the store, trying not to bump into each other in the middle.
It was super fun thinking about what to bring to the other and it took about an hour in total. Below are each of the categories and a brief description of how they turned out for us. The picture is of my roommate's cat sitting on her new favorite blanket that my boyfriend got me for the colorful part of this challenge!
2. Grab One Of Your Partner's Favorite Snacks.
We had a little problem with this. Turns out we both thought everyone's favorite color was brown, when in fact brown was each of our other favorite colors! He gave me this blanket and I gave him brown underwear. It was hard to come up with something creative for this!

Snacks were a much lighter category. He bought me beef because it's low carb and I LOVE it and I got salt and vinegar fries and Kit Kats. We have pretty similar tastes in snacks, so we could definitely share all of these choices! Then there were drinks.
I bought him blueberry and raspberry juice. They were both mixers that I thought would be good for a party we were going to later that evening. He gave me a package of canned wine. Alcohol on the brain for both, I guess. The next one was one of my easiest categories, but my boyfriend thought it was the hardest!
He said I needed so many things that I didn't know how to choose one. While he ended up choosing a new phone charger cable, I think everything he gave me, pictured above, I needed in one form or another. Even a skeleton! I bought body soap and filters for his Brita water bottle because I KNOW he never changes it.
3. Grab One Of Your Partner's Favorite Drinks.
This was a fun category! Finding something for your partner can be done in a number of ways. You can make a food to try, a toy, a game, a device and many other things! For him I choose a mini waffle maker and a new card game.
Both looked right up their alley. He picked out an egg beater for me that will actually save me a lot of money in the future. This gift was also my favorite color! This was a little difficult for me because he reminds me so much of my boyfriend, sometimes for no reason at all.

In the end, I decided to give him a Captain America shield, since we've seen every Marvel movie together (none of which I'd seen before hanging out with him) and Captain America is his favorite character. He gave me a sign that says I miss you already on one side and welcome back on the other because I'm so clingy and I miss you the moment he's gone.
It doesn't help that we lived two hours apart for over a year! Finally, the gag gift category. I made this up because I didn't like the choices others were making in their challenges. To that end, I bought him a Mystery Pack of Video Game Gadgets and Toys and a Mystery Pack of Mini Marks.
5. Get Something You Want Your Partner To Try.
These, along with everything else I bought him, are shown in the photo above. I think mystery packages are so much fun and you never know what you're going to get! Some stuff was pretty cool, and some stuff will get thrown out sooner or later, and that's okay.
He gave me a skeleton Halloween decoration that I put up to scare the guests, and honestly, I freaked out a few times. Overall, I thought it was a great alternative to a typical birthday party! We also ordered takeout and walked around the park.
We each spent a little over $100 at Target, but it would be easy to put a spending limit on that to make sure none of you overspend. Try this version of the TikTok Target challenge or modify it to make it your own! I'm sure you'll love it as much as we do.

I'd sell my soul for a drink at Residuals right now. Walking is an excellent form of exercise. It's one of my favorite activities, personally. It gets even better when you have the right soundtrack. While this is different for everyone, the main bins you can choose from are the same.
6. Find Something That Reminds You Of Your Partner.
Here you can be inspired and have a productive walk: First, it's simple... Nothing at all! Nature itself has a soundtrack, especially if you're in an environment teeming with birds and wildlife. But even the urban environment has its own unique sounds that can be enjoyable to listen to if you give it a chance.
So try to remove the headphones and enter everything. Save $9.99 per month and get started with a free trial first. If you don't like it, cancel. But if you try, you'll find it's great to have a wide variety of celebrities hanging out with you.
They are specially designed for guided, meditative walks, and you get to know them a little better too, including your favorite music being played. Whether it's a series of playlists you scroll through, a huge playlist you have on shuffle, or a radio offering of music similar to your favorite tastes, there's nothing like good old Spotify (or similar service) for listening to your favorite tunes while walking.
Has something happened that you are not in the mood for? Simple: Next. There are TONS to choose from, and they will make you feel well informed or entertained while on the go. Here are some podcast options. You can also explore offers in your favorite audio app.
