My sister's daughter (niece) and her family were very different. One day when we were staying, my nephew and his family got into the car while I was sitting on the porch. They asked if they were inside and I told them to ask my sister.
My sister's husband got angry and accused me of controlling my sister. Screaming, she ran to the porch and raised her arms. Although no bad words were said, I can't deny that I verbally responded to his insults. Last Christmas, he and his wife sent us an inexpensive box of cookies.
I think what he gave was that he apologized without admitting his guilt. Now my family forces me to continue and even take responsibility for my act of being abused, but I still can't forgive the behavior. Am I off base? VICTORY READER: Your brother is polite and you responded angrily.

What is the best way to deal with this type of behavior without losing my cool and alienating him, I am close to doing this?
