Starting last week, Cohn Restaurant Group placed 1,000 packages of meal cards on the shelves of five Costco wholesale locations in the region.
Each package includes two $500 Platinum Edition gift cards for a discounted price of $749.99. The group is behind 14 restaurants in San Diego County, including Corvette Restaurant, Beau-Beau Kitchen + Bar and Prado in Balboa Park. This isn't the first time owners David and Leslie Cohn have teamed up with Costco to sell gifts.

The retail and restaurant partnership began in 2005, and the Cohns have sold more than $1 million in gift cards to Costcos. The group won't release recent sales numbers, but David Cohn said the group has doubled Coscto sales since 2005, and theirs was the best-selling restaurant gift card at Costco locations in the state during the holiday season last year.
