If you're anything like me, Thanksgiving means one thing - the height of Christmas shopping! LOL I don't know why, but I always have a hard time enjoying Thanksgiving for what it is. I just can't get all my Christmas work out of my head.

Either way, I figured the week before Thanksgiving would be the perfect time to get my holiday budget in order. As a lover of all things Excel, of course I plan to solve the problem in an Excel spreadsheet! Last year I used a cute printable Christmas gift list for budgeting - I just made a list of the recipients and wrote the amounts next to their names.
It was sort of a checklist for Christmas, but it didn't really help with the budgeting aspect. All I could do when I overspent on a gift was write down the estimated amount and write down the actual cost. This year I want to get a little more technical and use an actual Christmas budget template in Excel where I can manipulate the numbers if the total budget seems high after listing all the recipients and estimated gift costs.

Having a Christmas gift budget in Excel will also allow me to make adjustments when buying gifts, which will help me stay on track. If I spend too much on one person, I'll have to get creative with other gifts! LOL I'm trying to only use my blog income for Christmas gifts this year so I have to stay on target!\ Here's a Christmas gift budget calculator I found.
