Almost every holiday party I've been to over the last 10 years has had a very similar gift exchange, along with other Christmas party games. Each person brings a wrapped gift and is assigned a number. The first person chooses a gift and unwraps it, the second person can steal that gift or choose another one, and so on.
I don't even need to write the nitty gritty because you all know. It's the same game everyone plays at the holiday party every year, whether you're celebrating with family members, exchanging family gifts, or even exchanging office gifts. This year I challenge you to break out of the typical gift exchange box and try one of the unique gift exchange games below at your holiday party.
They will be a perfect match for these Christmas games. Let last year be the last year you did something bad. The only other thing you'll need is an adorable white elephant gift, and luckily, I have a ton of great white elephant gift ideas for you!

It's a lot of fun and a big change because gifts are driven by dice - not choice! In this game, everyone starts with three small gifts. You roll the dice and the dice determine whether you trade, steal, or unwrap the gifts. This is by far one of the best gift exchange games I've ever played and the most popular gift exchange game for good reason - it's a blast!
And you don't know what's going to happen until the last gift is unwrapped! Get full instructions and printable data here, plus blank cards! You can do this with funny gifts, but I prefer it with real gifts! For this game, you will need two six-sided dice.

Ask all your guests to bring a wrapped gift. And by rolling the dice, people will want to know what happens to their gifts! Here are some great gift exchange ideas if anyone needs them! 1 Have everyone sit in a circle with a wrapped gift on their lap.
2 - Hand the dice to a person in the circle and ask them to throw the dice and follow the instructions that correspond to the number they roll. For example, if they roll a 6, everyone passes the gift right, then they roll an 8 and everyone passes left.

3 - Go around the circle so that everyone rolls the dice twice (or as many as you choose). During the second round, before someone rolls, if they haven't already unwrapped the gift, ask them to unwrap it so that all presents are unwrapped at the end of the second round.
4 - After rolling the dice in the circle the number of times you chose, your guests will hold the gift in their hands.
