When you enter the Oconaluftee Indian Village, you will be transported back to the 18th century. Surrounded by lush vegetation, your soul will be soothed by the sound of cool mountain streams. Guided tours will take you through art exhibits and award-winning artists will explain Cherokee art traditions.

Meet the Cherokee people in the history section. You can also see special shows throughout the season such as "War Time" and a traditional Cherokee dance. Continue west on US 74 past Waynesville, Sylva and Dillsboro until exit 74 is the Cherokee exit. This will put you on Hwy.441. Turn right at the third red light and left at the next light. Our box office is on your right before next month.

To get to our locations, turn left onto Drama Street at the red light between our office and the Cherokee Indian Museum. Follow the dramatic path to the top. The road ends at our parking lot. If coming from Atlanta, Georgia (about 3 hours): Take I-85 north to I-985.

The road turns into US 23 then US 23/Hwy. 441. After visiting the cities of Clayton, Georgia and Franklin North Carolina; when you get to Dillsboro you will continue on Hwy 441 (left lane, uphill) west to Cherokee and the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway. From this road you will take exit 74, which is also Hwy.
