One of my kids has been obsessed with llamas since visiting another farm last fall and chose this place (a llamas walking in the woods) for his birthday We (me, my husband and 3 daughters aged 17, 21 and 23) had a great time with alpacas on December 30th. !

Anne and Mike were very friendly, accommodating and quick to make us feel safe and comfortable with us. We had such a good time during our farm visit. Our alpacas are fed with locally grown and harvested hay in central Maine. They were bred by paying attention to the lands they inhabit in the island community we live in. Using our own yarn from alpaca yarn milled in Maine or spun on our farm helps to reduce our carbon footprint and provide locally grown produce.
Our farm is located on the picturesque Southport Island. As you head south on 27th Street, pass through the Boothbay Botanical Garden or past the pretty seaside village of Boothbay Harbour. Boom on the oldest spinning bridge in New England. The bridge will take you across Townsend Gut to the small island community of Southport.
Driving around the island, the winding road from either route will bring you to the village of Cape Newagen. Here you will find our ranch located next to the Southport Memorial Library. We are a small owned and operated business. “Why alpacas?” We love sharing our stories.
We want to introduce and educate visitors about alpacas in their natural habitat. We're not a pet ranch, but "alpaca kisses" can be done depending on the alpaca's social mood. Our llamas love to be fed hay, no matter what age our guests are or what time of day!
Our farm operation is a new business for us since we bought our first two llamas in 2011. We spent four years building the farm and the business. its business. In 2015 we opened as a second and new career change based on fire and education and we have not looked back!
