Here are their top tips. Every good gift basket needs a purpose. It can revolve around a holiday or special occasion, but a "just because" theme works just as well. "If I wanted to do something for a friend and it wasn't her birthday and it wasn't Christmas, I would think: What does she like to do?"

says Stephanie. "See what people care about." Specific hobbies and interests are great places to start, but so are general interests like travel, cooking, or gardening. Feel free to be creative! Once you've created a theme, you'll want to set a budget. (Otherwise, it's easy to overdo it!) And keep in mind that you don't have to spend a lot to create a heartfelt gift basket, especially if you shop at thrift stores like Marshall's or Target.
Step 1: Start With A Theme
Homemade crafts and food gifts also count. It's time to get to the store! Get 5-15 items (depending on your basket size) that fit your theme. “Make a good package… think of all the little things that can fill in the gaps,” says Stephanie. And don't forget the most important thing: the basket!
Make the basket something you can use," suggests Stephanie. "Finding a useful basket is a better way to spend your money." Some of our favorite containers include bags, storage baskets, and boxes. Once you've selected all your goodies, it's time to arrange them in an attractive way.

Start with the heaviest items at the bottom or near the back of the basket, then work your way up. You can use crumpled paper to add volume: "It takes up space and makes it look pretty," says Stephanie. Or choose functional filling. "Try socks, a bathrobe, a beach towel, tea towels, something you can use for packing but can also wear," she suggests.
If you like, add a card or ribbon for a finishing touch and get ready to give as a gift. If you want a little more inspiration, these well-crafted are easy to replicate.
