On the way, drive until you reach the water and look left where you will find E. Arctic Avenue. Turn left and the pier will be right on your right. The exact address is: There is a public car park at the pier for a fee or subject to availability.
On-street parking is free on a first-come first-served basis. Parking spaces are limited and visitors are encouraged to arrive early, ride-share if possible, and expect parking delays. Be aware that parking in Folly Beach during the summer can be frustrating. Make sure you park legally to avoid a ticket.
Where Is The Folly Beach Pier?
You'll probably visit the pier several times, depending on where you live. It is a short walk from many places or you can take a bike or golf cart if you are further afield. There are no entrance or cyclist fees. At the end of the pier is a 7,500-square-foot diamond-shaped platform with regular Moonlight mixers. Folly Beach Pier is also home to the Pier 101 Restaurant and Bar, which offers informal dining by the beach with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Pier 101 serves classically inspired American and Southern cuisine, seafood specialties and cold beverages.

During the recent reconstruction of the pier, the two pier spaces were slightly widened and covered, 33 feet wide, giving additional fishing space.
The current Folly pier reopened to the public on 26 December 2022 after replacing the old one. Folly Pier has been the focal point of the city throughout its history and various iterations. According to the City of Folly, the Pier, Atlantic Pavilion, Boardwalk, and Ocean Hotel were completed in the 1930s and 1930s.
Where Is The Folly Beach Pier?
The original Folly Pier was 120 feet wide and 97 feet long, a green and white structure built from palm logs. In 1937, 15,000 people celebrated July 4 at Folly Beach Pier. The pier has attracted famous artists and bands over the years, including Jerry Lee Lewis, The Drifters and The Coasters.
In 1960, after a fire at the nearby Ocean Front Hotel, the pier and pavilion reopened as Ocean Plaza with amusement rides, shops, a 1,700-foot boardwalk, an ice rink, and discounts. In January 1977, a fire broke out on the pier, the probable cause of the fire being arson.

On September 22, Hurricane Hugo, a category four hurricane, made landfall on Sullivan's Sullivan's Island. Winds were estimated at 135-140 mph, wreaking havoc on the South Carolina coast. Entire homes were leveled, blown away and washed away by the massive 11.9-foot storm surge. On July 4, 1995, the former Folly Beach pier and tackle shop were built.
It came to an end due to the destruction of wooden piles caused by sea drills. Reconstruction began in October 2020 to erect the current pier, which has modern improvements and a longer life. This is a version of our website aimed at English speakers in the United States.

When Is The Folly Beach Pier Open?
The pier extends 1,049 feet into the glistening waters of the Atlantic Ocean and is 25 feet wide and 22 feet above sea level. The gift and hardware store closes 30 minutes before the pier closes. Pets are not allowed on the pier. Pets on the beach must always be on a leash.
Pets are not allowed on the beach from 10:00 to 18:00. from May 1 to September 30. There are no charges for pedestrians and cyclists. School groups, call 843-795-4386 for parking information. As of December 2020, Folly Beach Pier parking is no longer included in the Gold Pass benefit.
Due to limited parking spaces, visitors are encouraged to arrive early, ride-share if possible, and expect delays when entering the car park. Due to the limited turning radius, we do not accept motorhomes and buses in our car park. Pets other than service animals are not allowed on the pier.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 10:00 and 18:00 from May 1 to September 30. Otherwise, they must be connected and under control. Kure Beach has two grocery stores and many other small shops where you can buy a suitable souvenir or gift for yourself or loved ones who had to stay at home.
