BJ wants his Championship Baseball gloves to fit his ball, and Riff wants to play his drums. Finally, BJ and Leafs fight to exchange gifts. So BJ decides to trade his baseball for the drum rope to Riff, and Riff does the same with the drum to give BJ baseball gloves.
Barney returns dressed as Santa Claus and the group finds a Christmas tree. The others open their gifts and soon BJ and Riff are disappointed because they had to exchange their favors even though they got the gifts they wanted. Barney reminds them that gifts are given, not received.
To forget their disappointment, Barney and the others take them to carols. Barney still has other gifts in his "Santa bag", including BJ's baseball and Riff's drum kit. All's well that ends well in the park when the red man and his friends sing "Merry Christmas."

Children write letters to Santa at Christmas. Nathan needs help deciding what to write in the letter, so Melanie helps him. Later, the children give a letter to the postman, reminding him that today is the last day to send letters to Santa. As he leaves, Nathan suddenly remembers that Melanie never sent the letter.
Megan ran to the door and yelled for the postman to come back, but it was dark and she was scared. Just then, Melanie comes out with a full letter asking where the postman is. His friends explain that he is gone. Melanie realizes that she didn't finish the letter on time and, burdened by this, sadly returns to the staff room.

The other kids ask Barney if he's okay. He says it's good to check. Back inside, she breaks down and tells Barney that there's no way she can get the letter now. However, Barney explains to him that Santa will actually find it before he leaves.
With the help of the Magic Travel Cupboard, they are at the North Pole in no time. They meet three of Santa's elves who perform a rap song about Christmas. Then the big guy, Old St. Nick appears. Barney explains to Melanie that he and Santa have been friends for a long time.
He then asks if it is too late to send the letter, he is still worried about forgetting. He tells her the reason for his late letter is that he was helping his friends and assures him that he will never forget about Christmas, even putting his name in the book with all the other good children in the world.
After saying that, he and Barney go back to the park, but he doesn't know he hangs his bag on the outside. When Melanie explains that she delivered the letter herself, her friends don't believe her. That is, until one of the elves suddenly appears and gives Melanie the bag back.
Before leaving, he explains to the others that he has been doing well all year. The children then ask Melanie what she wrote in the letter. He also said that he wished this Christmas to be a good Christmas for everyone. As they all sing "I love you", it falls again.
