You can go to Pulau Weh and Pulau Aceh from Ulhee-lhee, Banda Aceh port. The main ways to get around are beck (motorcycle taxi) and labi-labi (public minibus).

Acehnese breakfast nasi gurikh, rice cooked in coconut milk, is sold in cafes everywhere. Food stalls and padang restaurants are open in the unopened part of the market, and fruit carts are everywhere. There are some cozy cafes around Ulee Kareng along Jl Tengku Iskander on the western edge of the city, serving rice noodles.

Three fast food restaurants can be found downtown, A&W, KFC and Pizza Hut. As with all tours, common sense and a good attitude are essential to get you through this small town. However, there are some points to keep in mind. Although today Banda Aceh is safer than many European cities, it is best not to go out alone after 10:00.
