14 Hill quietly opened in December under the supervision of Julie Stamps, who worked as a buyer for a local gift shop in Patina for two decades. She recently left her position intending to rest when she noticed an empty storefront in her neighborhood at the intersection of 48th Street and Chicago where she used to live.
Realizing that there was a need for a gift shop in the area, she jumped at the opportunity to start her own business. The seal destroyed the place and returned it to a modern and industrial look. "I want it to look nice, but a house with a sense of neighborhood," she says, "somewhere it's going to feel good."
